Surtling

Surtlings are aggressive creatures found near Fire geysers in Swamps. They are small flaming imps that are relatively weak, especially in Swamps where the constant raining significantly reduces the damage from their ranged fireball attack.

Attacks and abilities[]

Surtlings spawning near Fire geysers can be farmed through lowering the ground around the spawn area with a pickaxe. As soon as the surtling spawns in water, it will take damage and quickly die.

• Surtling is a reference to Surtr, also anglicized as 'Surt', a mighty giant fire jötunn in Norse mythology.
• The flames around 1-star Surtlings are blue, with 2-star Surtlings being pink.
• Projectiles can be parried, staggering the surtling for some time and allowing you to close the distance for melee attacks, and possibly pushing them into water.
• While they take damage from water, rain does not affect them.
• Before the Ashlands update, Surtlings were very common and the only inhabitants of Ashlands.
