Dvergr mages are neutral creatures found in the Mistlands around Dvergr settlements. They resemble short, blue humanoids with light blue eyes and silver hair, and they carry Magic staves. There are three different types of Dvergr mage, which can be differentiated by the color of their staff and robe. Unlike Dvergr rogues, mages are exclusively found around Dvergr settlements and other structures (almost always in groups with other Dvergr) and do not respawn.

Once provoked by a player (by damaging them, other nearby Dvergr, or any part of a nearby structure that is protected by a Dvergr Ward), they will become hostile and attack.

Dvergr are naturally hostile to other aggressive creatures in the Mistlands and will attack them on sight. Clearing at least one Dvergr settlement is typically necessary to progress in the Mistlands, because the Dvergr component crate contains the Dvergr extractor, an essential component in the Sap extractor. This can be circumvented by ramming the relevant crate with a cart or hoping that agressive mobs in the area destroy it.

Types[]

Fire mages wear a red robe lined with gold and carry a pronged, fiery-red staff. They have several different Fire-based attacks: Launching a single fireball (reminiscent of the player-wieldable weapon, the Staff of embers); launching an eruption of fireballs into the air, whereafter they rain down; launching a fire spell that upon impact creates a very wide field of fire; and a melee bash with their staff.

Ice mages wear a blue robe lined with silver and carry a staff tipped with a glowing blue ice shard. They have multiple different Frost-based attacks: Launching a burst of three ice shards (reminiscent of the player-wieldable weapon, the Staff of frost); bashing the ground with their staff, dealing frost damage in a small area around them; and a melee bash with their staff.

Support mages wear a yellow-and-brown robe lined with gold and carry a staff tipped with a Dvergr lantern. They have only one attack capable of dealing damage: by smashing the ground with their staff, they can summon 1-3 Mistiles: Homing orbs of light that explode and deal damage upon contacting an enemy. They are also capable of one other move: by raising their staff into the air, they can cast a powerful healing buff on themselves and their nearby allies, which can quickly recover up to 400 Health over a few seconds. They can also buff their allies, which increases damage from all attack types for 20 seconds.
