Coal is a fuel necessary to power Smelters and Blast furnaces while also being used by various crafting recipes.

Notes[]

• The ratio for smelting any metals using Coal as a fuel is roughly 1 Metal for 2.1 Coal.
• It's possible to create "passive" Coal farms by venturing into the Swamp and digging Fire geysers down into the aquifer layer, making the Surtlings they spawn repeatedly take damage before dying and dropping their loot.
• The Ashlands are a great place to farm coal, which can be easily transported to to other locations using a Portal.
• By buying some bait and converting them in the Obliterator, you can turn 5 Coins into 1 Coal.
