Iron is a crafting material smelted from Scrap iron or Iron ore in the Smelter. It takes 30 seconds to smelt one.
Smelted iron may be obtained from destroying wooden doors in Frost Caves, or from destroying Ancient pots found in ruins and Putrid Holes within the Ashlands biome.

- Iron is extremely useful. It is used to build highly durable building parts and equipment through the endgame.
- Iron weighs more than its unrefined counterpart scrap iron, which is physically impossible in real life.
- It takes 297 Iron to craft one of each base equipment (armor, weapons, tools) in the Swamp Tier. Further 742 Iron to fully upgrade (total 1039 Iron). 464 Iron to craft one of each base equipment in all Biomes tiers. Further 909 Iron to fully upgrade (total 1373 Iron).
