Ancient Roots are a resource found in the Mistlands biome. Sap Extractors can be placed on them to harvest Sap.

Availability[]

Ancient Roots can be commonly found in Mistlands, at ground level. They emit a green light glow which can be seen through the mist.

Sap harvesting[]

Each root dries up as Sap is extracted from it using a Sap Extractor. Each Sap Extractor collects and stores one sap every 60 seconds. Multiple sap extractors can be placed on one Ancient Root.

The reservoir of sap in an ancient root regenerates at a rate of 1 sap per 400 seconds, up to a maximum storage of 50 sap. Thus, sap is a renewable resource.

Ancient Roots have three visual states: Full, half dried, and dried up.

State In-game description Harvestable Sap Image
Full The ancient root is pulsating with energy > 40 Ancient Roots
Half dried The ancient root's glow is fading 5 - 40 Ancient Roots Half dried
Dried up The ancient root seems all dried up < 5 Ancient Roots Dried up
