Copper deposits are resource nodes and are found in the Black Forest biome. To harvest copper ore from the deposit, pickaxes are required.

Availability[]

Copper deposits can be identified by their distinct dark yellow streaks. They always have the same layout with 138 nodes which extend deep underground, and each node has 50 health. When mined, the nodes yield both copper ore and stone.

Drops[]

Each segment may drop 2-4 of the following when mined:

Item Copper ore
Copper ore
Stone
Stone
Drop Rate 33.3% 66.7%

The average node, once 90 % of its segments are mined, will yield about 117 copper ore and about 234 stone. (90 % was chosen to reflect how a few of the nodes will often be buried too deep to be able to be mined.)

Notes[]

  • Metal deposits do not respawn.
  • Like other metals, copper ore cannot be teleported.
  • Deposits overlap with the terrain, which may make them appear fully mined. However, they always extend down to the eight-meter dig limit.
    • Digging down to the dig limit and then mining horizontally allows removing all the terrain in a single hit.
  • About 10% of the nodes will be under the dig limit and cannot be mined[1]. The exact amount depends on the shape of the terrain.
  • Deposits near water level may have most of the nodes under the water.
  • Nodes automatically get destroyed if they are not supported by other nodes, terrain, trees, etc.
    • Entire deposits can be collapsed by digging under and around the deposit until the remaining nodes float in the air.
  • Support is only checked when a node is destroyed and is approximated by axis aligned bounding boxes.
    • This can make it difficult to get the deposit to collapse because bounding boxes can be significantly bigger than the actual nodes and get supported even when not touching anything.
  • Surface level layers tend to give more copper than the lowest dig limit area layer.
