The small variant can be damaged with unarmed attacks while the large variant can only be damaged with a Stone axe or better. The small variant produces ~2 Wood when destroyed. The large variant always produces 20 Wood when destroyed. Beech has a chance to sometimes produce Beech seeds, a Feather and Resin when destroyed.
