This is not something I would usually read, but since it got me a good mark, I had to make an exception.
I believe that if poetry has something to say and the author wants the audience (at least the majority of it) to understand and get the message that the poem should be written in a way that it can be understood if you need to write another book to explain what you meant that you did a bad job somewhere on the way. You may not agree with me which is fine, but it's still my opinion. Thankfully this is not the case "I meant this", but I would still find it unnecessary. But hey, A!...more

Unfortunately, I cannot say that much has changed in her character. Or that there is a bit difference between the sane and the insane. So, this is it? The end? It seems almost...sad. But definitely strange. Like I should hold a wake. Or maybe I already did.

I finally got to the point that I could finish this series. And this remains my favourite comics series and the best thing Neil Gaiman ever created.
Unfortunately, I had a bit of a hard time remembering what happened at the end of the previous part but thankfully I managed to remember enough to enjoy this one.

I was a bit disappointed by the ending because I expected something truly amazing that would blow me away but the rhythm of this one was slightly off. However, I still really enjoyed it. At first, I thought that it should have ended right after the wake, the other stories seemed wrong. But then I realised it just really makes sense.
“Nobody died. How can you kill an idea? How can you kill the personification of an action?" "Then what died? who are you mourning?" "A point of view.”
I hope that one day I will be able to re-read this series and it will be like remembering a long time forgotten dream.

Dvakrát nedával smysl, autor něco vždy pojmenoval fancy odborně a hlavně vymyšleným názvem nebo takovým, co ma normálně jiný význam. Mělo to poměrně pomalý začátek, kdy člověk neví nic jiného, než že spadli. Pak se konečně něco dozvíme a začne to být aspoň trochu zajímavé. Jenomže cokoliv zajímavého je zabito koncem, který je nudný, zdlouhavý a utopicky otravný.
Ani tomu moc nepřidávají hlavní postavy. Harper a Nick jsou totálně na pád letadlo. Vlastně z těch pěti, co to dotáhnou do konce, je snesitelný pouze jeden. ...more

I'm just so sad that this is just so short. I would love the Death to have a longer series. She's one of my fave characters. I so much enjoy Gaiman's version of Death, she's not a negative character. One of my favourite versions out there if not the favourite. ...more

Jejich jmény, jmény jejich rodin, jejich životem před deportem a vztahy v táboře. V jedné kapitole popisuje, co se které z nich stalo a později na to odkazuje. Z toho ovšem vzniká nešťastný mix, kdy člověk není schopen rozeznat jednotlivé ženy od sebe. Což je ovšem velká škoda a bohužel to knize hodně ubírá. ...more
