Okay, let me tell you that this confused me, a lot. At first, I had to download this book like five times because I thought that I was doing something wrong. That was not Lucifer but Sandman! However, after reading some reviews, I realised that really one-quarter of this Lucifer Volume is about Sandman, which I mostly skipped because I read it just recently.
I have to say that I know Sandman way better than I do know Lucifer, but I still managed to get what was going on fairly quickly. But I was not invested in the story until the last 20 pages or so.
Plus my everlasting issue with Lucifer stories is that since I'm not a native speaker, I have a very, very hard time grasping what Mazikeen is saying....more

I have to say; these creatures are super fun.
Dragon - super cute, but it looked like a hamster when I tried... Unicorn - It looks like the one in the book but a slightly feral version Dodo - It looks like a turkey! Mine and their as well. Mermaid - It looks like a mermaid, surprise! Gnome - I call him Harry Gnome cause he looks like he just got the Sorting Hat on his head Mandrake - in all honesty, I failed this one so bad! Angel - Until I got to the wings, it looked okay, but then it suddenly turned rotten. Bigfoot - Tell me I'm not the only one who drew it with tiny feet? No? Okay. Boogey Man - The cutes of them all! He needs a Tim Burton movie! Brownie - Who's that? A cleaning gnome? Centaur - If any centaur saw my drawing, they would make a goat out of me! Not that I did not do the same... Chimaera - Mom! I want a chimaera for Christmas! Cyclops - Love them! They solved my problem with not being able to draw even eyes! Demon - He looks like the demon from Futurama. Dwarf - Am I the only one who gave him a bottle of beer? Elf - He got a flowery shirt! No more Christmas attire for this poor guy. Fairy - fairy grandma... I cannot draw this one young, sorry. Faun - he looks like he needs to pee. Frankenstein - no one ever told me to drew Frankenstein as a green Bart Simpson! It works. Gargoyle - Dad! I need a Gargoyle for my Birthday! It looks like a cat with wings. Ghost - easier to draw, what a surprise. Ghoul - I gave him a pineapple to eat, cause it looks like a head with a fabulous hairstyle! Goblin - Mine's pink and yours? Griffin - Okay, this one is impossible to draw from the front; the profile is the way to go. Hippogriff - why does it look like an angry chicken? Hobbit - Sitting on a throne of rings! Btw, why do they have larger feet than a bigfoot does? Imp - looks like the kind of guy who's driving the devil crazy! So much fun to draw. Kraken - Drew like fifteen of these, my fave. Leprechaun - I kept drawing a rainbow around these guys, do they have anything to do with a rainbow? Medusa - She ended looking cuter than a fairy and mermaid, strange isn't? Minotaur - No idea what I did to him, or they. Poor guy, first a labyrinth and now these drawings. Nessie - I have no idea who to tell that I need a Nessie as a pet! So much fun to draw the same as with Kraken. Ogre - I guess he had too many beers. Not my fave. Orc - Into the kitchen with this one! I gave him even the apron my grandma used to have. Pegasus - Either his wings are too huge, and he looks like a dragon or too tiny, and he looks ridiculous. Phoenix - Another chicken. Rumpelstiltskin - A skinny dwarf? Salamander - Okay, I need a bigger house for all my magical pets. Sea Horse - Horse Mermaid? I'm not going to ask about the evolution of this one! Siren - It just looks like a Chicken. Sphinx - It has a nose! Tengu - I did not go the "make it cute" way cause it would be just another Chicken! Troll - A bit mouse-like for my liking. Vampire - Why is he sooo cute?! I cannot stress how much I like this vampire! Already buying a coffin for my magical house for creatures. Werewolf - A cute doggo, I just don't see the "were" part. Yale - A goat with very short legs but I guess he will be a great friend with the Sphinx, I moved them into the same room. Yeti - I'm not even going to tell you how much I've messed up the fur. Zombie - it keeps looking like a robot. Flower fairy - I very much enjoyed drawing the flower hair. Dokkaebi - Make it cute with a skateboard. Enchanted Elephant - So, why they did not add an enchanted Chicken as well? I'm good at drawing chickens! Forest Fairy - I don't know why but they keep looking Maya, if I am brave enough I'll give them their own calendar. Genie - The fairest of them all. Kumiho - I'm not even telling you how many of them I drew and how I love this lovely creature but no cleaning for this one! Grumpy Wizard - Under that cloak, his body disappeared! Flying Monkey - No wings! Flying ears. Mummy - Okay, I failed with this one, Either it looked like nothing because of too much white or I tried using some "blood" red, and it does not look like a mummy. House Elf - Okay, what's the difference between that and an elf? Majestic Corgi - Where is my Chicken? Merman - Don't ask me how terrible this looks. Maine Coon - What is even that? Cat had a bit of fun with a racoon? Baby Witch - Not cute at all, murderous!...more

Well, this was disappointing for me.
For a book that is supposed to help you with organisations... it's somewhat unorganised. Jumping from here to there then repeating what was said couple pages earlier.
As for the "ideas" part. That is definitely not for me. I understand that these tips and ways may help other people, but for me, it would be counterproductive.
However, I have to say that visually the book was well-done....more

I'm very much pleased with this one! Loved how detailed it was, and it went step by step. You don't want to know how long I doodled dragon scales!

Can someone, please, explain to me why is it so hard to draw a face? Like, really, I don't get it! It starts so well and I end up with a troll. Every time.
I liked that this book focused very much on the features and I already saw several things I was doing wrong. However, my faces are still very ugly. Story of my life. But the highlight of this? I finally understood how to draw wavy hair!...more

Did I saw this Sandman on NetGalley and almost went through my screen because I was so eager to request it? Sure I did.
(I had pretty much the same reaction when I learned that Netflix would create a Sandman series... Now? I'm scared if it will be a good adaptation or not. And I keep wondering if I want them to follow closely the original or to go the same way the creators of Lucifer went.)
Back to the Dreaming. Turn the first page was so exciting! I could not believe that I was back! The Dreaming! And the first pages, wow, back. I was ecstatic!
However, as I progressed, the excitement started to die down. I kept wondering "Didn't we all read this before? Lord of the Dreaming is missing." AGAIN?
And that feeling never left me. What worked once, or twice or even three times... did not work this time.
Plus, I just cannot stand Dora.
However, despite all that, The Dreaming and Sandman is something... it's so high up there that it's so hard to achieve that level of brilliance.
Was this good? Yes. Did it measure up to the original series? No.

This is a tough book for me to rate.
My main issue was probably with the art, and yes, I get it that it's a part of the image. However, I did not enjoy the art. Seemed like a scatch which was supposed to be improved. Also, the handwriting was sometimes a bit tiring to read. I have to say that visual is the place where this book lost one star.
Sometimes I found myself skipping ahead, stopping mid "story" and going to the next. Also, I had to stop repeatedly before continuing with this book. Sometimes this was a bit overwhelming for me, and I did not want to continue to read it and had to put it down for a day or two. To a certain extent, I even have to say that sometimes it felt tiring reading this which is not something you would expect from a book like this. (Be it a good thing or a bad one, that's probably up to you to decide.)
This book definitely has its audience out there. However, I don't think I'm necessarily that audience....more

I believe I stopped reading this around 85%, so, this is not a DNF.
At first, I was rather excited; however, as I progressed, the excitement diminished. Mainly at the point when I realised that many of these things which were featured in this book were in the literature textbook, we had in high-school. And other things I would note as "common knowledge"(not the right word... basically things most book worms know just by searching new books, reading and due to the existence of Wikipedia), very few things were surprising to me, and suddenly I had to push myself through this book.
I'm going to give this two stars if only for the excitement I had at the beginning. Unfortunately, for me, this book is pointless....more

I never heard about this before... Not sure if the author is posting on social media as well. And seeing that the author is Spanish, it might be the reason why I did not see her work before. I really liked the colour scheme which was really soothing. And it was fun that some "Stories" were just a page or two and some spanned over several pages.
However, after reading all three books by Sarah’s Scribbles and the book by Catana Comics... this felt very similar to those two but unfortunately did not measure up. Or maybe all of the "funny" situations were explored for me. I'm not entirely sure.

Unfortunately, that did not happen. I was not a fan of the art; the colours were somewhat off for my liking. And this was not my favourite Sleeping beauty retelling at all.

My first granted wish on NetGalley! 😍
What can I say? I was always fascinated by Calligraphy, mainly because my handwriting is horrendous and I keep switching between several "writing styles". I write "s" like four or five different ways. And for some reason, I write L as alpha, don't ask why.
So, of course, since I cannot keep my crappy writing uniform, I would want to get my hands on Calligraphy!
And I think that this might be probably just the best guideline ever. Did you know that there is a proper how to dip your pen in ink? Cause I sure did not!
This book has it all, from the beginning (how to hold your pen kind of beginning) to several different writing styles. And I love it all and I cannot to buy some quill (of course I would buy a writing quill! ✍) and some ink and make a lot of mess! 🖋🖋🖋🖋🖋...more

I'm pleasantly surprised here. I always wanted to learn how to embroider things but I'm a slow learner in this direction.
I really appreciate that the book took care to show the different stitches. Because that was one of my problems, I know their names in Czech (or French) but sometimes I'm struggling how exactly they are called in English and I often found myself confused by directions. Therefore, I enjoyed that this book started with the basics but at the same time showed several projects which are not basic but something that you can really do and use. I really like that.
I already chose two projects I need to do asap (and I also chose several more for later because they seem more time consuming). I really loved the embroider coasters and the tea towels.
My only issue is that sometimes in the instruction for the projects I feel like the pictures were too small to really understand what the author is trying to show to us. And then there were pictures so big that they took over the whole page when it was absolutely unnecessary....more

I wanted to add thYet another DNF. Won't be rating this one because I did not get far enough in the book for me to feel like it's a fair thing to do.
I wanted to add the obligatory "it's not you, it's me," but then I thought otherwise.
Maas is a very conflicting author for me, yes, I did enjoy the Court series but otherwise, her books sound something like I should enjoy but I do not. Her books seem like they were written just for me. Even some people told me that they do not get why I don't like Maas's book more because they sound just like me.
And in a way, it feels like me and Maas's books are on the same train, on the same track but I did not realise that our trains go into the opposite directions. (Do I even make sense? It seems like the same thing but it really is not, and you realise it a bit too late.)
Anyway, back to this book, I just could not get into it. The writing seemed... clunky? (Again, is this even a word? Sounds like a one but written down does not look right.) It was tough for me to get interested in the story and I stopped reading for long periods of time and did not think about the book once, and when I picked it up, it felt more like a chore to continue it rather than an enjoyment.
So, when I realised that this was not going anywhere, I decided it's time to DNF this and maybe finally accept that yes, Maas's books sound awesome and I just want to love them all, but I don't, and that's fine. So, here I am, accepting this and moving on. In the future, I will just enjoy the great blurbs and all of your raving reviews, but it's time for me to let this go....more

Stop Looking at Your Phone always has two parts, first, it shows the scenario the wrong way featuring the phone and then the second one shows that you are supposed to put your phone away. Should this be humorous? I'm not certain; I did not laugh nor smiled even once while "Reading" this.
And it's funny that once (or was it twice?) the author basically said: "put the phone away and watch the tv." And that's better how?
The drawings were not good at all and reminded me of those evacuation directions you have on a plane, but even those are better cause those are colourful!
The author tried very hard and failed miserably.
And I cannot not mention the part about the weather. A) shows that it's snowing and the guy is dressed for beach cause his phone is telling him that it's hot outside. B) The correct way is to look out of the window and see and dress according to what you see. Well, right now it's sunny outside, and it looks like a fabulous spring day, so, maybe a dress? But guess what? It's actually freezing outside!
