The developers of Songs of Conquest added to the game an option to automatically resolve battles, which allows you to play the scenarios faster. On this page of our guide, we explain whether Quick Battle is worth using, what potential disadvantages there may be of it, how the battle simulation works, and whether you have to always accept the result.

How does Quick Battle works?

After both hostile factions meet on the map, on the screen will appear the battle preparation screen - Songs of Conquest: Is it worth using Quick Battle? - FAQ - Songs of Conquest Guide

After both hostile factions meet on the map, on the screen will appear the battle preparation screen. There are 3 main buttons on it:

  1. Withdraw - It allows you to retreat from the battle, but remember that it is not always available. We describe this option in more detail on How to Withdraw from a battle? page.
  2. Manual Battle - The most often used option which will begin the battle. Before you decide to begin the battle, you should check your units and possibly change their placement on the battlefield.
  3. Quick Battle - This option allows an automatic resolving of the battle, i.e. without having to load the battle screen, give commands to units or use spells. Everything will be taken care of by AI.

  1. Clicking on Quick Battle button doesn't mean that it will start right away. Instead the game will create a simulation of the battle, which is completely free of charge.
After the simulation, you will learn about the predicted outcome of Quick Battle - Songs of Conquest: Is it worth using Quick Battle? - FAQ - Songs of Conquest Guide

After the simulation, you will learn about the predicted outcome of Quick Battle. You have 2 options here:

  1. Accepting the result of Quick Battle - You'll immediately receive XP and possible loot. After closing the window, the defeated opponent will disappear from the map.
  2. Choose Manual Battle - you can instead lead the army and try to get a better result (e.g. loose less units) than the simulation predicted.

Note - once you choose Quick Battle, you cannot no longer avoid the battle. The aforementioned third option from the battle preparation screen will no longer be available.

Advantages and disadvantages of Quick Battle

2 - Songs of Conquest: Is it worth using Quick Battle? - FAQ - Songs of Conquest Guide
  1. Quick Battle has some advantages and the most important of them is saving time. Automatic resolving of a single battle will save you a few minutes on average.
  2. Another important advantage is that you get identical rewards to what you would receive if you lead your forces in battle. Your hero will get the same XP and the same loot as you would receive when defeating the opponent manually. So there is no risk that Quick Battle will slow down the development of your Wielders.
3 - Songs of Conquest: Is it worth using Quick Battle? - FAQ - Songs of Conquest Guide
  1. Confirm Quick Battles only when they the simulation indicates small losses. The loss of a few or several common units will not significantly weaken the strength of your Wielder's army.
  2. Quick Battle is not recommended when the forecast indicates large losses or losing valuable units that are costly and problematic to recruit again. In such cases, it is better to fight the battle manually and make sure the more valuable units remain alive.
  3. Remember to not accept Quick Battle when the simulation predicts defeat (example in the screenshot). Pressing the associated button then will mean the death of a hero and the need to resurrect them - we describe this topic in more detail in How to resurrect Wielders? page.
