List of campaigns in version 1.0

Campaign is the name of one of the modes available from the game's starting menu - Songs of Conquest: All story campaigns - Basics - Songs of Conquest Guide

Campaign is the name of one of the modes available from the game's starting menu. This mode is dedicated to single players and consists of ready-made scenarios that place more emphasis on story and plot. In version 1.0, released in May 2024, there are 4 story campaigns to choose from, which the game calls songs. They are:

  1. The Song of Stoutheart - this is the campaign where you play as Arleon faction. It focuses on Cecilia Stoutheart, a baroness who fights to stay in power and defeat enemies within the ranks of Barony of Stoutheart.
  2. From the Ashes - Here you lead the Rana faction. The main character is Rasc from the Southcreek Flats, who, after being freed from the mines, sets out with a band led by Rana and must deal with dangers in the Marsh region.
  3. Together for Her - This is the campaign of the Barony of Loth faction. The Barony yearns for the days of its glory and the opportunity to return to them appears after the arrival of Scholars from the Unseen Lodge.
  4. The Price of Freedom - This is the campaign where you lead the Barya faction. The protagonist is tinkerer Bihgli Satherdown, who, in order to pay off his family's debt and regain his freedom, sets out on one last assignment.
1 - Songs of Conquest: All story campaigns - Basics - Songs of Conquest Guide
  1. You can start the campaigns in any order, but choosing The Song of Stoutheart is recommended as the first pick. It comprehensively introduces to the most important mechanics of the gameplay, such as combat, developing Towns, or managing more than one Wielder at the same time (the hero traveling the map).
  2. Each campaign consists of 4 missions, that are played in an imposed order. After completing a mission, you can choose the next one from the map and the main hero will be taken to it.
  3. Between missions, there are cutscenes in the form of songs sung by a bard recounting the adventures of your Wielder. Completing a given campaign will unlock its entirety.
  4. From the campaign menu, you can also browse community campaigns - this is a good way to continue playing after completing all scenarios/campaigns prepared by the developers.

General objectives of the campaign

2 - Songs of Conquest: All story campaigns - Basics - Songs of Conquest Guide
  1. Each campaign follows the story of a different main character. Unlike other Wielders, the protagonist cannot die in the course of it, as this will mean game over. In such a situation, you need to begin a scenario anew or load a previous save.
  2. You can play campaigns on different difficulty levels and the lowest possible is Fair. Fair means the level of challenge is low, but this may be a good choice if you want to learn the basics and get acquainted with the units and buildings of the given faction.
  3. Missions not always start with you having control over a Town or a Settlement. Depending on the scenario, you may need to find a settlement first on the map, capture it, or try to develop it. The same goes for the main mechanics - scenarios may, for example, limit the number of Wielders and not allow recruiting new ones for some time, or place a limit on the experience level achievable in the given scenario.
  4. During scenarios, you can complete main and optional mission objectives. They may not be known right at the beginning, and the next ones may appear as you progress in the scenario. Passing optional tasks is not mandatory, but it can make your gameplay easier (e.g. unlocking mines or recruiting new warriors).
  5. By managing to complete all main objectives, a victory screen will appear. You will return to the realm map from which you can choose the next scenario.

Recommended tactics for campaign missions

3 - Songs of Conquest: All story campaigns - Basics - Songs of Conquest Guide
  1. The individual missions of the 4 story campaigns differ in their objectives and tasks, but you can distinguish a few general principles that are worth following. Focus at the beginning of each scenario on completing the main mission objectives. This will allow you to take over towns and settlements faster, as well as unlock potential additional wielders.
  2. For the most important battles, field the main character for a given campaign (e.g. Cecilia Stoutheart for The Song of Stoutheart campaign). Try to make sure that the character has the best equipment and as many troops as possible. Use other wielders mainly for optional exploration and simpler battles.
  3. Take items from other wielders before the end of a scenario (example of the equipment and army replacement window in the picture). Only the main character will move on to the next mission of the campaign. This means that you may lose the equipment used by the other commanders. This is especially important for unique, rare artifacts or weapons.
  4. Try to advance the main character to the maximum level for the scenario (e.g. level 8 or 16). This will allow you to start the next mission with a better-developed hero and it will be easier for them to win new, more difficult battles.

How to reset campaigns?

4 - Songs of Conquest: All story campaigns - Basics - Songs of Conquest Guide
  1. Songs of Conquest allows easy resetting of scenarios for the purpose of playing them again in a different way or on a higher difficulty level. It is also possible to completely restart the current progress in Campaign mode - this will allow you to begin all missions from the start.
  2. To do this, go to options menu, Gameplay tab, and find Reset Campaign Progress button. In the similar way, you can reset your entire profile and statistics (wins and losses, completed scenarios, etc.).
