To leave a location very quickly. He bolted out the back door after seeing his ex-girlfriend walk into the party. I bolted out of the house when I realized that I was going to be late for my appointment. He acts like a tough guy, but I just know he'd bolt out of there like I did if he encountered a mountain lion!
