Leafless Tree Pattern

The finding of multiple abrupt cut-offs of terminal bronchioles in an air bronchogram—now rarely performed—which is likened to a leafless deciduous tree in winter, a relatively nonspecific sign first described in bronchoalveolar carcinoma, seen in chronic bronchitis and bronchiectasis. A leafless tree pattern has also been described in the sialogram of patients with chronic pancreatitis
