In mammals, this family includes six members, Nrf1, (26) Nrf2, (27) Nrf3, (28) nuclear factor erythroid 2 (NF-E2) p45 subunit, (29,30) BTB and CNC homolog 1 (Bach1), (31) and Bach2. (31) All these proteins contain a CNC domain and bZIP domain (Fig.
The neoplastic cells show an immunophenotype similar to that of low-grade nodal FL (NFL) by expressing CD20 (Figure 4), CD79a, CD10 (Figure 5), BCL-6, BCL-2 (Figure 6), and BACH2, and show a lack of expression for CD5, CD23, CD43, BCL-1 (cyclin D1), MUM-1, Blimp-1, and T-cell markers.
The 20 most up- and down-regulated genes include significant changes in expression of genes related to apoptosis (FDRX) B-cell functions (FCRLA, IGHM, PAX 5, BACH2, MS4A1, and POU2AF1), inflammation (ITLN1, CCR7), hemoglobin synthesis (XK and RHD), and induced by oxidative stress (SESN3).
The highest p300 enrichment in SEs was associated with the Bach2 locus regardless of the lineage subset of [CD4.sup.+] T cells.
The NF-kappaB subunit c-Rel regulates Bach2 tumour suppressor expression in B-cell lymphoma.
The only pair of negative association is between the Gclm and Metf2c, which in turn is positively associated with Bach2.
DOHA A group of scientists, including Sidra Medical and Research Center's Chief Research Officer Francesco M Marincola, has discovered that a gene called Bach2 may play a central role in the development of a range of allergic and auto-immune diseases, such as multiple sclerosis, asthma, Crohn's disease, celiac disease, and Type-1 diabetes.
