I then thought that my father would be unjust if he ascribed my
neglect to vice or faultiness on my part, but I am now convinced that he was justified in conceiving that I should not be altogether free from blame.
"We've produced leaflets for people who see any sign of
neglect to be able to say, 'I have seen that,' and then seek out support."
One of the ways that could help parents recognize and prevent neglect is to distribute manuals about preventing child
neglect to new parents in hospitals, which would include, for example, the importance of putting a baby in a car's safety seat, the necessity of leaving a baby with a qualified nanny if needed, and attending to a child's medical needs as soon as they arise to prevent further complications that would lead to hospitalization.

The reporting of suspected child
