Negin, Evgenii Arkad’evich

 

Born Jan. 16, 1921, in the city of Bor, in what is now Gorky Oblast. Soviet scientist in mechanics. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1974); Hero of Socialist Labor (1956). Member of the CPSU since 1943.

Negin graduated from the N. E. Zhukovskii Air Force Engineering Academy in 1944. Since 1949 he has engaged in scientific research. His main works deal with gas dynamics.

Negin received the Lenin Prize in 1959 and the State Prize of the USSR in 1951 and 1953. He has been awarded two Orders of Lenin, four other orders, and various medals.
