Maimakan

 

a river in Khabarovsk Krai, RSFSR; left tributary of the Maia River (Aldan basin). Length, 421 km; basin area; 18,900 sq km. It originates at the southwest end of the Dzhugdzhur Mountains and flows primarily northward through an intermontane valley. The Maimakan is fed by mixed sources, predominantly by rain. It freezes in October and thaws in May.
