DX has been spoiled, this game is about personal vendetta, the only thing Square Enix seems capable of using as a story line.
DX1 your a g-man, a normal lacky in a cubical! You uncovered the story as you went. This game is as black and white as a final fantasy title.
Games square enix has ruined
Tomb Raider
Just Cause
Kane and Lynch
Deus Ex
I have played the beta and believe you get choices and they are gray. Especially the side quests.
Nah dude Tomb Raider was destroyed by Eidos.
Ion Storm did **** because they ruined DX: Invisible War.
Just Cause 2 is so much better as Just Cause 1.
I dunno about Kane & Lynch, never played it.
while i share your concerns about having too much of pre-defined characterisation of Adam, i don't think you can say the plot is banal before playing the game.
The lead writer is one of the few devs that actually post on DXHR forums, and judging by his posts he fully understands what DX is all about.
I'm sure the game will have many plot twists, and cheesy vendetta/girlfriend/other personal stuff is just a small subplot that will lead you to much bigger things.
From what I've seen so far they understand **** of what Deus-Ex really is. DX:HR doesn't deserve the name Deus-Ex as they totally went off target again. This has really nothing to do with Deus-Ex at all. And their forum is a ******* joke. They delete any critics posts because they want to pretend their game is good. Sorry guys, but this ain't true. You ******* failed at it and what we've seen so far shows this clearly... unless you live in a dream world pretending this game to be good (for which I dislike you, you Deus-Ex back-stabbing pseudo-fans).
Too bad everyone knows you were talking **** now that the game is out.
OK to people hitting this game with **** (Kudos to Blaze_K and Dragonlord for your comments they are respectable (to an extent :P)) but lets face it no sequel or prequel is ever as good as good old originality but thats just the way it is, the storyline to this game has promise and I don't beleive it is ruined, more shifted. I believe they just want to give Dx fans a small dose of their curiosity what would it be like to be Gunther or Anna :) all in all, no it will not be as good as the original but it sure as hell will beat --:IW
This new one is like the first Deus Ex! Awsome. But the part I most miss from the first one is the multiplayer... too bad the 3rd one doesn't have it. But then keeping it singleplayer only may have its perks.
although i was not very surprised about this being a FPS, i did wanted it to be a third-person a wee bit more... but, at least i hope it will be a good game...
Deus ex was never really third person, besides the cutscenes.
I like the small implement of thirdperson in cover, but thats it.
Deus ex was always a great game. Although part 2 was a little. Bad. Part 1 had to be a very great game since half life 1 came out. With eidos and Square enix Im sure it will bring back most of the stuff in the first. Definiatly going to buy this one
what you mean man, half life 1 was 98 and deus ex was 2001 or 2000, don't remenber, and yea ur right, the segund game, invisible ******* war was a piece of ****, really bad, it doesn't deserve the name deus ex, deus ex 1 was the best game i've ever played in my life and i really hope this one is gona be as good... i hope
err Deus Ex 1 was originally released in 1995 man DX1: GOTY came a bit later like in the 2000's
Oh yes!
Epic game gets its graphically overhaul and new missions, thanks, Eidos!!
Deus Ex was the best fps I have ever played, now I want this one, it seems to be epic, with way better graphics, this will be pretty much cool.
Wait! is that guy jesus or something? I see a dead guy on a table in 1700 or something and I see an angel? wut tha ***?
...seriously? and there i thought their icarus reference couldn't be more bold and obvious. and yet you still didn't get it.
the dead body scene is recreation of a fameous painting. 1st-art-gallery.com
Thats Icarus I recall, and this is during the renaissance judging by the clothing the other guys are wearing. Also by seeing the golden colour grading.
