I feel like I have a generally good install and settings in general, but any advice on making things have a little less sheen when it rains? Makes the terrain look a bit flat.

Edit: I've determined that it has to do with Emissions. The emission itself seems to completely screw with the shaders, and the rainstorm that seems to always follow makes it more obvious. Saving/reloading the game has fixed it most of the time. Any ideas what to do about it though?

Hi Ascii. I want to ask if I can turn off the ambient light from the fluorescent tubes? Because of them, the FPS drops quite significantly on the bases. But at the same time, I don’t want to turn off the volumetric light completely because the lighting from the campfires at night looks incredible.

Hey Ascii, first time I ever have issue with your mod, but since update 20, no matter what I do and despite following the instructions provided carefully, I am greeted no matter what with a black screen once in-game. Any ideas what might be the issue ? Everything was fine up to update 19 and even deactivating all the mod to just run SSS v20 leads to a black screen as well.

The same thing happened to me. After trying everything (but there are those who say they solved it by simply increasing the brightness and gamma; this really didn't solve anything for me), after trying everything I solved it by manually inserting Enhanced_Shaders_Color_Grading, ShaderDrivenScopes, Beefs_NVGs, ScreenSpaceShaders, Atmospherics, following the procedure carefully; and then using MO2 to have all the other modifications active. Give it a try. I hope it works for you too (but carefully follow the procedure for inserting the mods mentioned above, this thing is really decisive). The latest version of SSS makes the game beautiful to look at ^^

`shader_param_8` is uniform variable used to pass values to shader. If it undeclared then there's no declaration of it. Maybe your shader files conflicts/missed patches. I'm a bit of programmer and wrote a shader pack for stalker (can check it. it's in my profile). Sorry if I intervene in this discussion. Everything works for me (to make SSS work I inserted SSS, and all the mods 'connected' to SSS, manually); the game is very very nice like this, but I found that if I insert a mod that requires the cancellation of the shaders the game gives me the classic error, even if after deleting the shaders folder the first time I start the game from the game executable, I close it immediately, and then I start it from MO2 (deleting the shader in fact has never given me any problems); now this no longer applies, if I insert a mod that requires deleting the shaders now gives me the error even when I start the game from the game folder. It's not a big deal since the game is now graphically beautiful and I can insert all the mods that don't require shader camcellation, but I'd still like to fix it (sooner or later I'll probably need to clear the shaders).

Due to recent shadows changes in engine, this addon and "New Shadow & Light Features" module is now a hard dependency if you want to use modded exes only (even if you only need DLTX).

Shame, I can't get this to work with modified EXE's. I've tried everything that everyone suggested... loading older versions, loading default grading settings,... nothing helps and im still stuck seeing only black... Yes, I can see compass and menus fine. Everything else rendered is just pure black.

Wasted an entire weekend trying to get this to work. Spent hours reading and searching through the instructions and comments.

Now, I am completely turned off by this experience.

Anyone with any other suggestions?

If you find another way please share it, as the one I proposed is the only one I've found to make SSS work (and it was great to get it working), but it has a 'little' problem, I can't delete anymore the shaders without that this leading to the classic error (even if after deleting them I start the game the first time from the executable and then restart it using MO2).
(in fact up until now I have no longer needed to delete the shaders, the game is very beautiful to look at like this, but sooner or later I think it will happen that a mod will ask me to do it).

Do you have to enable manual installation for anything that requires modded exes? (this should be stated in the installation but I don't see it anywhere.)
