Fractal blooms are popular and very well known style in the fractal art field, but coming of the dawn by Esherymack is special in many ways.

The delicate, gradual unfolding of the soft petals, is one from many qualities that make this piece stand out. The clever use of colors, showcasing an aesthetically pleasing transition from soft blue tones all the way to warm gold, present a very well thought out flow of the gradient. The bright sparkles, paired with the intricate texture of the petals, accompanied by their shadows only add to the flower's photographic realism. With a depth of field, followed by the soft bokeh effect in the distance having it tied altogether, this unique fractal bloom achieves an otherworldy, magical feel.

Description

second submission for the fractal chats compo :) to reiterate from the first one, the compo is a "skill upgrade" competition where we show off how we've improved over the years.

Back in the day, lindelokse put out the "3D Blooms" tutorial that took the fractal community by a storm. I think this is still the base technique that everyone who makes these plastic flowers follows. www.deviantart.com/lindelokse/…

I of course followed suit. I still make flowers following this basic method :lmao: But I like to think I've very much improved over the years. See here: www.deviantart.com/esherymack/…

This one also has a healthy amount of inspiration from C-91, who still makes some of the best blooms I lay my eyes on

this of course took eons to render - I've been over the bug in Apo's multithreaded rendering options a bunch of times now. 2 days, 21 hours, some handful of minutes :)
