The current compo in fractal chats is a "skill upgrade", where we take some old work of ours and redo it or upgrade it to show off how our skills have improved.

Back in 2012, I really did a lot of following apo tutorials, and a lot of those resulting images, which are still in the depths of my gallery, are really similar to the things that were in the tutorials themselves. I think it's safe to say that my skill levels have improved a lot over the years.

Anyways, my "skill upgrades" are as follows:

- This is now a higher resolution and it is in wallpaper dimensions (2560x1440)

- It's 2D instead of 3D. I don't do a lot of 3D stuff these days, and I have a 3D image rendering right now in Apophysis, so I didn't want to mess with that progress. It's slow going (even though Apophysis does support multithreaded CPU rendering, doing so is a Bad Time if you're rendering for quality It's easier to just let it render with no multithreading and being patient).
- I used an esplits filling instead of plain cylinders. I learned how to use xaos in the last 12 years!

- I rendered in Chaotica 2.2.3 instead of Apophysis 7x15. This is my normal these days
