The Frostner is the fourth one-handed club. Its primary attack is a 3-hit combo with double damage on the last hit. Its slower secondary attack deals 2.5x damage and 2x staggering.

Its very high knockback and slow makes it a good choice for fighting multiple foes at once. These attributes in combination with different damage types make the Frostner very effective all round weapon even in later biomes.

Notes[]

  • The Frost damage is applied instantly, even though the slow persists over time.
  • The Spirit damage is applied over time (and only affects some enemies).
  • The hammer itself also gives off a Frost Aura, which is a purely visual effect.
  • The Wet status causes Frost weakness, making the Frostner effective against enemies submerged in water (rain only affects players).
  • Players are less likely to see a foe stagger from damage from Frostner compared to other maces, this is because frost does not contribute to staggering, only physical damage does.
  • The knockback can be detrimental when focusing a target down, especially when playing in a group. Using the secondary attack to finish off the target may be preferred over primary attacks.
  • The combination of knockback and slowing effect provided by frost makes the Frostner optimal for crowd control.

Trivia[]

  • Frostner's appearance is loosely based on archeological finds and artistic representations of Mjölnir, the one-handed hammer of Thor.
