Coinbase

(1) (coinbase) The first transaction in a blockchain block. See coinbase transaction.

(2) The largest U.S. cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume. Coinbase became a public company in April 2021, which was the first IPO for a crypto exchange. With 56 million customers in more than a hundred countries, Coinbase enables access to Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin and many more digital currencies.

Coinbase Pro and Coinbase Prime
Coinbase Pro was designed for professional traders and provides charting tools similar to a stock trading platform. Originally debuting as the Global Digital Asset Exchange (GDAX) in 2016, GDAX was later renamed Coinbase Pro. Coinbase Prime is for institutions, trusts and high net worth individuals.
