I am a dreamer, sometimes a coder/artist/designer/modeler/animator/gamer/listener/helper/student/thinker, and much more. I like to think of things that nothing is impossible, and I learned throughout time that there'll always be another day that'll be a better day. The only thing that I believe in is a persons will, If one really wants to do something he/she will be capable to do such a thing, that's how I learned most of the stuff that I know.

From my experience you might be right, that'd also mean an increase in graphics card requirements for the bigger texture files, and more cpu useage for this higher detail-level. So all-in-all the choice needs to come down between quality and performance, where i'd say for a game one would want performance with some eye candies.

To be more precise i wouldn't even know whether it was shockwave that first used a dual-barreled dragon, cause the Fritz mod might had it before before SW, not sure about this though...

What i do know is that designing units is difficult, so models from different modders are likely to look similar.

2-3, first of all it enables me to work alone/on everything i want without having to do all, seccond i prefer working with friends which in some cases means i'm the only one knowing what we're actually doing(my generals mod GAISB)

I might have found a small bug: Nuke overlord doesn't fire(does do firnig anim, but no shells are fired) on vanilla gla workers, but before calling it a bug i'll retry it on different maps and check the code(my computer has the tendancy to do strange sometimes, so it could be my computer)

maybe use allied airfield as warfactory, maintaining an allied airfield, and add a nod airstrip like feature to bring vehicles to the battlefield, i mean the airfield already has a landingstrip(center of the airfield).

Decrease Kirov Health, i mean 3 apollo ammo loads needed to blow them apart? that, and improved speed is way overpowered.
I'd suggest lowering hp, as that was to much anyway, besides if the kirov has as much hp as a Apocalipse, than it's more dificult to destroy, as aa is less powerfull than anti surface.
The rest seems ok though.

a ranger jeep is ideal to stop the flame towers, because it's fast enough to dodge the flame balls, the only thing to look out for is Tesla Coils and other human players, as they'll probably be better at aiming than the tower.

For my generals mod i use up to 750 polys for this kind of vehicles, it runs fine, even in lareger numbers. on ppm site there's apoly recomendation floating somewhere which says:
infantry 100/400
vehicles 500/900
base defence 600/1500
structures 1000/2000
superweapons 1500/3000
I believe the original author of this list was The_Hunter, and for my experience with w3d so far this seams to be a very good advice.

Oh yeah, a nice thing you could code: feedbackbone or something, and then use it to hide the missiles when they're fired, see the Tomahawk for example.

I agree that unit limits are no fun. When it comes to certain units however, like Epic units it's pretty desireable that they can't be build in mass numbers, defenately in the hands of the AI(try Moddb.com vs a hard Japan AI on a naval map if you don't believe me)
