Draugr villages are a point of interest found in Meadows.

Description[]

Rarely, large clusters of Abandoned Houses can be found in the Meadows. Many of the structures present in these villages do not generate on their own, and are thus unique to these villages. The buildings are generally larger than those found elsewhere, and the villages always feature partial log wall perimeters. Several of the buildings contain Body piles, which will continue to spawn Draugr and Draugr elite until destroyed. The buildings often contain chests, which share the standard Abandoned House loot pool. Given that Draugr villages are exclusively [needs verification] located within Meadows, they are a safer source of Entrails than the Swamp, though Sausages cannot be produced without an upgrade structure for the Cauldron, which would necessitate a one-time trip to the Swamp anyway. If players choose not to destroy the body piles located in some of the houses, they can have access to a fully renewable source of entrails, not reliant upon hunting in the Swamp.

Strategy[]

If the player can gain an elevated position over the houses -- either by building a small tower or getting on top of a roof -- they can often use a bow to shoot into the other buildings, affording them relative safety from the Draugr within. This is one of the safest ways to destroy the body piles found in some of the houses, in addition to being a relatively safe method of dealing with any Draugr elite that spawn. Do note that all types of Draugr deal significant damage to wooden structures, and are liable to tear buildings down beneath the player. Draugr Archers also represent a significant danger for players utilizing this strategy, especially those who are not equipped to deal with them.

Luring other hostile Creatures -- Boar, Greydwarfs, or even Trolls, for instance -- into the village is an effective, if short-lived, method of temporarily distracting the Draugr, as they will often disengage with the player to fight other creatures. This can, if necessary, buy the player some time to either escape or destroy the Body piles.

Since the indoor Draugr can not open doors, another strategy is to first kill the outdoor Draugr enemies and then use the AOE damage of the Stagbreaker to hit the body piles from outdoors. However, it is also possible to break the already weakened wooden walls and allow them a way to come out.
