When the communities have access to either the Federally Recognized Tribal Extension Program (FRTEP) or the 1994 tribal institution with an active extension component, either can coordinate training for tribal agricultural producers or point them to other resources such as RuralTax.org, a website created by extension specialists with information on agriculture tax issues.
There are groups working within Indian Country--such as the Intertribal Agriculture Council, the Federally Recognized Tribal Extension Program, 1994 tribal colleges, the Intertribal Tax Alliance, and the Indian Land Tenure Foundation--that can advocate for AI/AN producers on these issues.
