I've read quite a lot of comments, and from what I see, a lot of people (like me) want to pitch in and help this new project. I think the question on all our minds is: how can we help out with Lays of Althas and join the team?

We are working on that. We need to sort out applications and whatnot. We'll announce that as soon as we're ready. Glad to see the enthusiasm. :)

To sad that Merp can't live on, to sad that WB is still fighting for it's right to make crappy LotR-games... -_-

Anyway, I like to hear that you want to keep working together on new things. And what you have done for Merp is really amazing. Keep up the good work.

It saddens me to hear your grim news about Merp, Warners bros couldnt/ havent came close to your quality of work . I hope your new Project goes well and i cant wait to see your new game in the Cry engine 3 always wanted an RPG game in one those engines like cry engine or frostbite .

check out warhorse then. it is an rpg in cryengine and (from what I've seen) I like how the combat in that game functions. also Lay of Althas won't just annoy WB, it will annoy any other terrible company that doesn't know a thing about game making and constantly releases terrible games. (I'm looking at you EA!) since if there will be an awesome free game that will be surpassing the quality of a full WB game who in their right mind would buy a WB game? the only difference is that WB will not be able to C&D this:) otherwise it will still be "competing with" (more like crushing) WB's crap.

please try making it realistic by making it somewhat historically accurate. it always bugs me when a sword makes the more unearthly scratching noises while its scraping its way out of the scabbard. I mean why would anyone want to scratch their weapons every time they drew them and alert everyone around them that they are drawing a sword? also I hope cavalry will actually act like cavalry. in other words don't copy the many flaws that other games, movies, films, etc. think are right. this person makes some of the best points about historical accuracy: Youtube.com

I wouldn't worry to much about that, the Epoch Games team will surely be paying attention to realism. Have you forgotten everything MERP stood for? ;)

nope, but a lot of the things that now annoy me I once though actually happened. like torches used indoors or in manhunts at night when all that the hunters are doing is effectively night blinding themselves and telling the person their hunting where they are. seemed normal to me before someone pointed out the MANY flaws those things have.
