So let me get this straight: Lays of Althas will be on an entirely new engine? So Skyrim is out of the discussion?
yep. It will use CryEngine3 so there shouldn't be any problems. but don't worry I was told it was going to be a completely free game:)
So it's a game?! That's great news! And here I was thinking it was just going to be a mod the entire time :P
Will the Epoch Games team be planning on releasing it on Steam? Or is that even going to be allowed?
It will be free and I don't see a reason why someone would release something with Steam DRM. If anything I would want the team to use torrent technology so we won't have to wait all day for it to download.
Yeah, but I for one am relatively new to PC gaming. Skyrim was only my second PC game :P So the Epoch Games team will have to lay out a real elaborate, step-by-step tutorial on how to install it for noobs like me ;)
So then you used to be a console player right? well anyways welcome to the PC crowd! Also I'm sort of curious whether you bought a finished PC or whether you assembled it yourself?
I bought a finished one :P Also, I have a quick question for the Epoch Games team: do you plan on having races? Like elves, dwarves, and men? Or just one race?
You have to define race. We won't have elves and what have you. But there will be several races of men. As well as some other variables that will create a degree of variety.
no elves:( (I'm sort of like Samwise when it comes to elves, and who doesn't like Dwarves!)
Welcome to PC Gaming! I was actually raised to be a computer tech and am a heavy gamer, so if you have any questions about PC gaming, your rig, mods, or anything else feel free to shoot me a message. I'm sure plenty others on here will be willing to offer information as well :-)
I too would be glad to help with PC related problems:) although sometimes it might just be best to spends a few mins on the linustechtips forum. (the best tech community ever)
Best of luck in all your endeavors friends!
I'd love to join you guys on your new venture, i have experience in maya and photoshop if u need a moddeler/texturer.
Once we have application systems and assignments sorted, we will let all of you know. Glad to see all the eagerness here :)
I've read quite a lot of comments, and from what I see, a lot of people (like me) want to pitch in and help this new project. I think the question on all our minds is: how can we help out with Lays of Althas and join the team?
We are working on that. We need to sort out applications and whatnot. We'll announce that as soon as we're ready. Glad to see the enthusiasm. :)
Sounds good, thank you :) I'm very excited about helping out.
from what I was told there might be a public claims area although I personally would like to join the team:)
