The radius of the cylinder around Hildir is approximately 25m. I just tested this yesterday with some pals in the hopes that we could create a large enough workbench zone to protect form mob spawns within the base we built around Hildir's area. It was fairly difficult to get a reasonably accurate idea given the terrain near her in our seed is only 1-4m above sea level, but we were able to set up a square around the cylinder of unbuildable area that measured 50m a side.
I am putting this out there for those who might have the desire to build around the traders without modifying the game to eliminate their 'no-build' zone. Given how much trouble we were having with mob spawns inside the base, it became necessary to actually do some math on things in order to eliminate the possibility that the mobs were spawning as a consequence of the uncovered area within and around the cylindrical 'no-build' zone.
If you're having the same trouble, then you should build 4 fully upgraded workbenches in a '+' shaped pattern at the midpoints of each of the 50m sides of the square or on the corners of the 50m sides. Each of the four fully upgraded workbenches have an active radius of 36m. Collectively, they fully block out the entirety of the area of the 25m radius 'no-build' zone cylinder and ensure that spawns near the edge of this zone are blocked. Alternatively, you can do 4 workbenches with only two upgrades in the '+' pattern and an additional 4 non-upgraded workbenches on each corner of the 50m square.
We love having Hildir close to home for her nice non-portalable fireplaces. However, the base's large area of approximately 25 square kilometers is a breeding ground for food mobs and aggressive mobs. They seem to start coming in and eliminating workbenches from her camp, so the clearest solution at the moment is eliminating the possibility that the game tries to spawn things near her camp and doesn't stop until they find an open pixel untouched by workbenches and other structures.
There are lots of conflicting arguments about what does and does not stop mob spawns. I am unaware of a full-proof solution, save for those which involve disabling the mystical zone and allowing players to build directly within her camp (one fully upgraded workbench directly in the center of the camp would solve this entire problem). Many people recommend fires, flattening/pathing out the ground, and even trying to make an intentional mob spawner within the base that is outfitted with spike defenses to automate material collection. I have seen no clear evidence one way or another on these alternatives to workbenches, but if there is a better way (without altering the game) please give me a shout. I don't want to waste 16 iron for this dwarven lass.

I’ve been playing a hardcore world where I try and progress without killing bosses. The Wiki says trolls will only raid once the elder is defeated, however I was still raided by trolls??? I believe this is false information, there is some other progression or factors that can trigger the event. Has anyone else noticed/experienced this happen with their world?
Me and my friend just defeated moder have not found Hilder or any of the mini bosses to fight yet. Any ideas on where to look. (specific coordinates on where you usually find them?)
How about translating Valheim wiki into Chinese. It is hard for my friends to read english in this website
As I'm sure plenty of you have heard there have been some, let's say, unpopular executive decisions at Unity HQ.
If I'm not mistaken Valheim uses the Unity game engine and I personally would hate it if the creators of Valheim would suffer under this new policy.
I saw this video about migrating from Unity to other game engines (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQK23sAJ2y8) and would love to hear the community's thoughts about this. You can view the project UniFree here: https://github.com/ProjectUnifree/unifree

When building things, the snap function saves lots of time. At least it used to.
For the last couple of months (or more), it's NOT THERE! The function just disappeared or has been badly modified. Sometimes, using the Shift key when placing an item allows better placement, but even that doesn't work perfectly. It's now almost impossible to build anything that looks right, We have a vanilla versionof Valheim.
Has anyone else seen and fixed this problem? TIA

Hiya, my Valheim world has become really laggy since I came back on after a few months. It is bad enough that I can't hold my own in a stone golem pickaxe fight anymore as dodging is almost impossible. The mods I have installed are Bepinex with plugins: Jotunn Library, SnapPointsMadeEasy, Plant Everything and Precise Rotation. I deleted all of these mods and reinstalled the latest versions one by one (going into the game each time to let them load).
The world is offline/single-player/LocalSave, all the graphics details are on medium, the framerate limit is at 44 fps and I am out of ideas. Can anyone help?
I was just on my phone and took the Valheim quiz, and the last question was how many bosses are there in Valheim, I answered 6, but the test marked it as wrong and said there were 5—just wanted to point this out as I can't seam to find this when I am on the desktop version.
Edit: the quiz seams to be from "fandom trivia"

Content to maximum level
I think the death of valheim and a few other survival games is that after defeating the last boss with a max character, there is nothing left to do. Okay, you build a few monumental things, but this is the max. I know that I have two more bios left, but I'm afraid that even after the last boss of my last bio, there won't be anything left to do in the same way as now. That's why I collected a few thoughts that I would like to spend time with when my character is maxed out.
1. Viking bots, sometimes you can find them on the map while exploring, if you save them, e.g. it will join you during some mini-event, it could be used as a companion (it can be useful if someone is playing alone), or at the base, for example it would repair the damaged building elements by itself, or the garden could be automated with it. (in the case of instances, it would be waiting outside in the entrance, essentially a moving inventory and minimal support). Gear and weapons could be crafted separately for them.
2. Mounts: horses, larger wolves, loxes. There can be several types of mounts that can be ridden, they can be found in different biomes and captured using different methods. Their frequency should also be different. Also, some could be faster, the other should have a mini inventory with 4-5 slots, or for example the wolf to help fight. Tamed mounts cannot be killed, they are only injured if defeated (in this case they cannot move but lie down). and can be healed (just like Viking bots).
You also need a ship, e.g. a converted longship that has a large cage on board and that serves to transport the mounts at sea. (If the ship accidentally sinks, the animal will swim to the nearest shore.) Many types of mounts, in many different colors, I think many people would be interested in collecting them.
3. Big attacks. In addition to the usual random attacks, there could sometimes be a big attack event. In this case, a larger army starts towards your base from somewhere and approx. The timer would count down from 5-10 minutes. At 0, the army would reach you and you could prepare until then, or go in front of the army and weaken them with traps. Here, the army would not disappear after a certain time, but only when the last one died.
Such things would fill the game even if you already beat every boss with a maxed character, because there is still something to do.
Did you know there is basically a 'house/apartment/condo/flat" under the Queen staircase?
I recommend killing all the creatures outside before you get started but:
As you start up the stairs, just inside the wall at the bottom on the left side is a "wood" panel. Remove it and you have stairs going down into a "basement" area.
It even comes with a few kegs, and busting them yields a Tasty mead from each keg (3 total) and gives space for storage containers. It is large enough using the different rooms for a portal, bed, braziers in windows for fire, and a few storage containers. Once discovered, I go back to closest base and start grabbing items for:
Workbench, forge, and stonecutter, which can be built outside a 'window" initially.
I repair most of the marble and replace some of the big ones with smaller so the doorways feel more comfortable. But is it Awesome to have a portal, meads, foods, arrows, and repair basically just outside the entrance!
I don't understand how to progress through this game in single player. It seems like it was never intended to be beaten. I cannot get past Yagluth. Even after going into the Mystlands and having not much trouble with enemies there, without wisp torches, and I still cannot beat Yagluth. His fire deals entirely too much damage, even with Potions and Armor that both give fire resistance. I have switched my build to have 100+ armor, and 200+ HP, but he still rinses me like I'm level 1.
Am I missing some hidden mechanic in the game? What is the point of making a boss constantly do AOE fire attacks every single second with no openings? This doesn't feel fair or fun.
