The Givers concerns itself with the tippy-top tiers of "the philanthrosphere." We're not talking here about bush-leaguers like Bill and Hillary Clinton, whose family foundation has to go scrounging for other people's money.

They're bush-leaguers compared to African wild dogs, which kill at an astonishingly efficient .900 clip.

Instead the Bush-leaguers are acting true to form: Ignoring the losers in the rigged economic game of corporate capitalism before and after the storm, coining political capital from their misery afterwards, proposing to pay for reconstruction by stripping even more from government services that don't protect or promote wealth for the already wealthy, and funneling more middle-class tax dollars to the same politically connected corporations that are using the war on terror to steal from American consumers and taxpayers.
