RECOMMENDED: Moddb.com
Next version is 5.0 and is still WIP. Available here: Moddb.com
For Low-end PCS try this: I made a max performance mode that will be included in the next update: Drive.google.com
4.0 Changelog: (Full changelog in zip)
4.0 7/10/2022
-New grenade explosion sounds
-New PM(Makarov) Sounds
-New bullet fly-by cracks with a different style (optional, old set is marked "Old")
-New sounds for close/mid range for a bunch of guns (100-200 meters range)
-New metal impact sounds and body/player bullet impact sounds.
-Reduced number of sound files playing per NPC by about 50%. No Change for player, or first person effects. This will resolve issues when there are huge firefights are going on and the framerate will tank. This does mean there is a reduction in variation for gunfire from NPCs, but xray just cannot handle it.
-Adjusted AI detection distances for all gunshots. Generally its 100m for pistol calibers, 150m for 5.56/5.45 200 for 7.62 and 250-300 for snipers. Suppressors reduce detection distance by around 35-50%. Reduced detection distance for NPC fire (Not Player) a lot from what it was before which will hopefully help fix companions running off to attack where they hear distant gunfire.
-Adjusted the bass values and volume of NPC gunshot effects
-Suppressed Weapons are more audible from mid range (100-200 meters) and less audible from further away. (300+)
-Completely re-done the falloff distances for gunfire sounds. I scaled it down and removed a few steps for optimization and to scale it better for stalker's smaller maps. Should be easier to pinpoint gunfire and anything past 150-200m will fade out way faster, but still be audible from pretty much any distance at a low volume.
Modified Files: Almost all audio files adjusted in volume and configuration
All files in the "Sound_Layers" folder in configs
Base.ltx if using impacts and cracks (Part 2)
Huge thanks to beats for his assistance and making an excellent take on the same idea!

For some reason, this addon makes my game stutter a lot when shooting.. I'm playing in a weak notebook but this is just a sound replacer, I don't understand, does anyone know why?
Same for me
Try using the recommended mod in the description. It fixed my stuttering.
Kinda fixed my stutter when I shoot, but game still lags alot when NPCs starts a firefight, welp, thanks anyway.
Try this. I removed a ton of sound files that are played for maximum performance, it wont sound quite as good, but it should work much better for you: Drive.google.com
I had the same issue and I fixed it by removing the tracer patch. Personaly I think tracers are kind of dumb anyway so it works for me. Try it!
I aprecciate the help, but I only installed the main addon, no tracers and cracks.
Anyway, I used Groks better audio addon as suggested by JaCoB, I put the quality sliders to the lowest, removed effects.. aaand, the game still stutters LOL! but at least it is less frequent, so it is tolerable.
I also modified my Alife switch distance, I'm not sure, but I think this also helped by reducing stutter a little. At this point I don't know what to do to get rid of the stutter completly, so I think the only solution is to buy a ssd.
Moving Anomaly onto my SSD fixed the stuttering for me, so I guess that's another thing you could try if you haven't already.
Same, i can't use this mod because stutters in firefights.

The difference between this mod and normal anomaly sounds is that its playing a massive number of sound effects at once, with 4+ variations for each sound effect so each gunshot will sound ever so slightly different.
There are nearly 2000 sounds in the current version and vanilla has about 100 iirc.
but the new 4.0 version should help with performance, but it'll never be as good as vanilla without making it sound much worse.
Hey man I saw your videos online about the mod and was very impressed, the only problem is the game crashes whenever I try and launch it with this mod(JSRS 3.6) installed with (BaS 1.5.1 feb-19-2021) i tried looking for a merger but the only one that was available was for (JSRS 3.4).anyways if you know the fix to this I would greatly appreciate it, thanks.
Thanks for the mod! Ran into a small issue with a missing sound, using a Skorpion v.61 (alternate) with 9x19mm suppressor. How do I fix this?
I'll look into it and fix it for 4.1. Are you using any other gun mods?
Your mod is awesome, but I encountered a small bug. You can't hear the bolt mechanism when you have a suppressor on bolt action sniper rifle (I have installed BaS but I also have patch for JSRS sounds)
BaS has a lot conflicts, either gotta fix it yourself or choose what mods you want to use, or to play with the issues
Such a fantastic mod, only the shotguns are a little lackluster, basicaly all of them sound the same and have the same reload sound, apart from that is a great mod, a must have
Yeah dude that's my one big gripe.. I'm surprised there hasn't been some sort of shotgun sound replacer. It gets kinda boring when 15 different shottys sound the same lol

Loving your mod, great job!! The only thing i dont like much is about the SVT-40 sound as I prefer the vanilla version, quite more impactfull and satisfying to shoot. So my question is, there is any way I can remove that specific sound from the mod?? Other than that it's an excellent mod overall
Thank you!!

What could be the reason?
20x70? isnt that ammo from BaS? if so, you probably installed BaS wrong, I never had this crash.
Hello, everyone. Does some one can help me? im trying to use this mod on Call of Chernobyl, but i dont know how i can adapt it. If you can help me, i will be very gratefull. And yes, it needs to be on CoC, because my PC doesnt run Anomaly. (Im not fluent in english yet, sorry about the mistakes).
I think this Addon only works on Anomaly.
There is a bug: the SR-3M makes the suppressor sound even without a suppressor.
I'll look into it and fix it for 4.1. Thanks
This mod is a must, thanks a lot!

Hello guys, what doing Cracks+impact patch?
Hi. Sounds awesome.
Sorry for the woefully typical questions, but is it compatible with the Soundscape Overhaul? (that is also done by you, right?) and what is the compatibily like with other mods, say weaponpacks like BAS? Thanks in advance.
Yes, its compatible, I play with this mods
Wow, can't believe you left out the sweet loot sound from the old version. Good thing the old version works for that purpose alone. It's the one sound file I can't live without.
Tried this version and it made the weapons too grating on the ears. Only tested with my current weapon: AN94 or Abakan.
I will always cherish your awesome and elusive loot sound file, but big pouty lips as far as this version is concerned. :S
A classic must-have!
I'm coming back to anomaly now and updating my addons, and I just have to say that this tracers looks sick! Thank you very much!
I'm getting this error when trying to use JSRS

Anyone got any idea of how to fix this? I've been trying for over an hour now to figure it out and I'm at a total loss.
Edit: Ok nvm I fixed it. Accidentally had JSRS loaded after Full Upgrades which caused the error (still don't understand how), I moved JSRS up the load order and installed the JSRS patches from both Blindside animations and Full Upgrades and it works just fine now.

JSRS Great Sound Mod but not for potato PC your Game will stuttering

I have a weird problem, every time an npc starts firing the game lags a lot
The game does not crash or anything, it just lags...
hElp
Is a new game required?
Nope
Every pistol sounds the same. I've tested PM, TT, Fort17, Glock and APS. This is normal in this mod?
They sound the same when suppressed because I only had a couple assets for suppressed 9m to use, but unsuppressed they all have unique firing sounds for the player. They sound similar because of their caliber, though
Nice sounds but the performance is laughable, don't install this if you have a weak computer or notebook
