This JSRS Port completely overhauls all the gunshot sounds with new assets.
New Distant Sounds. New stereo first person sounds. 8 layers of audio for each weapon. Variable sounds for each guns for more variety. New Explosion Sounds.

-New grenade explosion sounds
-New PM(Makarov) Sounds
-New bullet fly-by cracks with a different style (optional, old set is marked "Old")
-New sounds for close/mid range for a bunch of guns (100-200 meters range)
-New metal impact sounds and body/player bullet impact sounds.
-Reduced number of sound files playing per NPC by about 50%. No Change for player, or first person effects. This will resolve issues when there are huge firefights are going on and the framerate will tank. This does mean there is a reduction in variation for gunfire from NPCs, but xray just cannot handle it.
-Adjusted AI detection distances for all gunshots. Generally its 100m for pistol calibers, 150m for 5.56/5.45 200 for 7.62 and 250-300 for snipers. Suppressors reduce detection distance by around 35-50%. Reduced detection distance for NPC fire (Not Player) a lot from what it was before which will hopefully help fix companions running off to attack where they hear distant gunfire.
-Adjusted the bass values and volume of NPC gunshot effects
-Suppressed Weapons are more audible from mid range (100-200 meters) and less audible from further away. (300+)
-Completely re-done the falloff distances for gunfire sounds. I scaled it down and removed a few steps for optimization and to scale it better for stalker's smaller maps. Should be easier to pinpoint gunfire and anything past 150-200m will fade out way faster, but still be audible from pretty much any distance at a low volume.
Modified Files: Almost all audio files adjusted in volume and configuration
All files in the "Sound_Layers" folder in configs

TheVAL / VSS / Vihr sounds really need to be fixed, my vihr sounds completely unsuppressed.

Oh man, let me know if you can fix them, this **** is driving me crazy. The 9x39 guns are louder than suppressed guns! I'm not sure why, but it sounds like Solarint cranked the reverb tails waaaaay up for them, but in reality, theVAL and VSS are some of the quietest weapons in the world. The action of the gun is practically louder than the shot, they almost sound like a stapler!

The AWSM sounds awfully quiet for .338 lapua sniper rifle...

All 9x39 guns besides the 9A-91 share the same single firesound of the unsuppressed SR-3M. The suppressed SR-3M even has the same sound. The 9A-91 has different unsuppressed and suppressed gunshots but suppressed is -far- too loud for a subsonic cartridge and a suppressor longer than the standard barrel of the gun.

Love this mod. I would consider it essential :)
I have one issue though.
I feel like many firing sound are painfuly loud. Like the MP-153 for example. Sure, I play on perhaps slighty above average volume, but all other sounds ingame, including the ones added by other mods, have a normal level of loudness.
I don't think it was like this in the previous version. Is there anything I can do on my part?

I've installed this add-on, but I don't have enough mileage to see its difference right away. When I feel it's enough, i'll come back and comment. But at least, I was able to install it without crashing the game, always a good sign.

I noticed that the file w_fort_up.ltx from the JSRS 3.3 is not in the 3.4, so do i've to delete that when i install this?
yeah you can delete it, it didn't do anything and was accidentally put in.

Here it sounds flat/quieter than in yours videos. Specially shots from enemys. Is that a known issue? I did tried to edit the alsoft file and to select the "audio workaround" option, but nothing solves it.
Hi, I installed your addon with JSGME and have a problem with the 2 patches Cracks + Impacts and New Tracers... If I only enable the main addon everything is fine but if I enable either of the 2 I get crash on startup with this log:

Is there anyway to revert to the vanilla weapon gun sounds but still keeping the ambient and distant gunshot sounds features? The new gunshot sounds all sound too similar for my tastes.

I'm running this mod on RC18 and everything is fine apart from that when I take my knife out it makes like the stock PM cocking sound. Not sure if it's because of some incompatibility with other addons or just a bug :/

I tested it with RC18 and it works, but the knife makes the sound of a pistol being cocked :( I suppose the same thing happens with the RC19

I think i've figured out a way to get rid of that gun cocking sound.
If you haven't already replaced the original weaponsounds.ltx, click and open that original one with notepad.
Scroll down and you'll find [wpn_knife_sounds]:base_sounds.
Underneath this it should say snd_draw, and then = $no_sound ;weapons\bino_holster, 0.5 after it.
Copy and replace the snd_draw in THIS mod for the knife with the above "no sound" thingy, and the problem should be gone.

yes, it does. however the cracks and impacts addon doesn't seem to work for me. haven't tested the tracer one either.
Hey, does this sound pack work with the latest RC-18/19? I've been using this pack exclusively for U4H8, but I'm upgrading to the newest version of Anomaly..... but I can't see myself enjoying the experience quite as much without your killer sounds!

Does the "new tracers patch" need to be used with a particular tracer mod?
No, it just makes every bullet a tracer and makes tracers easier to see when shooting, it only requires all the previous parts of the mod
