SourceForts is a Half Life 2: Deathmatch mod where Combine and Rebels face off in capture-the-flag action with a big twist. Players build bases and other structures with blocks and plates in the "build phase" to protect themselves and their team's flag (which is actually a ball), and then fight it out and try to capture the enemy's flag in the "combat phase". Once the combat phase has ended, it's back to build, where players can repair, improve, and change their creations to ready them for the next combat phase.

The next planned major version will introduce an entirely new style of play. The most major change is the removal of the build phase, and the introduction of capture points to the existing CTF formula. Building will still remain an essential part of the game, for the team that does not build will surely lose. As is planned, a new art style, new maps, and new models will be added as the next major release progresses.

I used to play this mod regliously when it was up and running. Sad to see the I used to play this mod regliously when it was up and running. Sad to see the state its currently in. I recently formed a gaming community dedicated to hl1/hl2 mods, and giving sourceforts a run is on the top of my wishlist. We curently have servers on the US westcoast and central with upcoming expansions to europe. If theres enough of a surviving active player base, launching a server would be a no brainer.
