After ten long years, the Circle of Eight is pleased to present the 'final' version of our modpack - Circle of Eight Modpack Version 8. This release falls ten years to the day after the release of The Temple of Elemental Evil in North America. It is the culmination of years of dedicated work from literally dozens of contributors, and it serves as testimony to the enduring passion for quality turn-based strategy games in the modern era.
As usual, the modpack comes in standard and new content editions. You can download the standard (left) and new content (right) versions below.

GoG version -- installs Co8 "successfully." But when I start get "Another instance of ToEE Front-End X is already running!" Nothing shows under apps or processes. Have reinstalled twice, will try reinstall of ToEE (GoG) and reboot.

You have to run TFE-X (the front end utility) as administrator in Windows Vista and 7. Right click the TFE-X application icon and check 'Run as administrator.'

Before I crash my game and have to re-install it, does v6.0.0NC raise the level cap and have higher level spells and abilities to reflect this change?
All kidding aside.
I've downloaded the game from GOG and installed it to a custom directory. I found out the hard way that I must have my virus protection set to 'gamer mode' to install 'circle of eight'. But once I have it installed and launch the game, it gives me an error saying I need version 2. GOG should be already patched, so what gives?
I've got it to work now; my WebRoot was screaming bloody murder ;)
