This is a submod for Between Empires that seeks to add East Asia in the early 20th century to Warband. With several time periods to start from, including the Warlord Era and Second Sino-Japanese War, Between Republics will cover a particularly tumultuous time in the region's history and introduce a plethora of factions and units with widely differing playstyles and rosters.

There will be some 30-40 factions in the mod, some of which are either closely related or are part of other bigger factions. Some factions can also form a new faction with a different name and roster.

Looking forward to this, love warlord era, but only games I know are old Warlord era mod for HoI IV and Rise of the White Sun
Don't know if tanks are a good idea, vehicles don't fit into Warband's engine and ruined gameplay in Parabellum for example
Tanks will be very limited in number(maybe 1 tank per division) and will be only available to factions like Japan and the Fengtian Clique. The main purpose of this is to give these factions a disproportionate advantage over the other factions, at the expense of being very outnumbered; Japan will be fighting more or less the entirety of China once it goes to war. In other words, it's to even out the playing field.
Non-tank factions can research tanks, but it'll only be available in the 1940s so that Japan gets an opportunity to invade properly in 1937 without getting wiped by the Chinese forces.
As a Chinese faction there really aren't a lot of ways to defeat the Japanese tanks, and so I understand the concern about them breaking the game like they did in Parabellum, but some Chinese divisions will get field guns and anti-tank gunners planted into their troop pool, and you can also recruit these units directly from the armoury. In this way you won't need to actually grind your troops up to an anti-tank unit like in Parabellum.
