This is a submod for Between Empires that seeks to add East Asia in the early 20th century to Warband. With several time periods to start from, including the Warlord Era and Second Sino-Japanese War, Between Republics will cover a particularly tumultuous time in the region's history and introduce a plethora of factions and units with widely differing playstyles and rosters.
Instead of calling for a vote(native warband) or assigning the settlement to the faction leader(vanilla Between Empires), captured fiefs will be immediately given to the lord or player that captures it. Nominally this would seem quite powerful, but your relationship with your faction leader will decline once you own more fiefs than them, which comes with consequences. Other commanders may also get jealous and may not intervene if your fief gets attacked.
