Trap.
Trap is a card type in 
Legends of Runeterra.
- Traps can be planted on a card in a deck, trapping it. When a player
draws a trapped card, the trap's effect triggers for that player. A card can have multiple traps on it.Traps cannot be played directly, only planted by other cards.
Notes[]
- If a card with a trap planted on it is removed from the deck in any way other than drawing it, the trap is destroyed.
- Traps are functionally identical to boons, but are usually negative effects and tend to be placed on the enemy deck. Traps were in the game on release, boons were added later as a positive version of them.

- Internally, this is called Autoplay.
- Since they cannot be directly played, no Trap card is collectible or can be added to hand.
- Despite being 'attached' to cards in the deck, traps act completely seperately from the
Attach mechanic.[1] - Traps used to appear to be a random spell speed, or with a unit's border (with 0
Mana cost and 
0|
0) in sources outside of the game, however they now have a blank spell border with no mana cost or speed, but with the appearance of a 
Fast spell otherwise - this border and change is shared with 
Skills, with the exception of the Unit border fact, and Skills have an additional icon.
