federated directories
A collection of directories that are treated as one entity. For network administration, it means that multiple directories throughout the entire enterprise; for example, multiple forests in an Active Directory environment, can be combined and treated as a single hierarchical directory. They can also share rights and privileges. See Cross-Forest Trust and federated.Copyright © 1981-2019 by The Computer Language Company Inc. All Rights reserved.
