The Bulgarian dance group was a part of the
CIOFF Bulgaria (International Council of Organisations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts).
CIOFF has been working towards safeguarding, promotion and diffusion of folklore and traditional cultures; promoting the intangible cultural heritage through dance, music, songs, games, rituals, ceremonies, customs, traditional crafts, costumes and food.
The upcoming festival will once again transform the city into a spectacle of goodwill and a haven of merrymaking, while keeping the
CIOFF tradition of promoting friendship and peace alive.
The Kutai Kartanegara district government, the Department of Culture and Tourism, and the
CIOFF are inviting up to 250 representatives, assuming 10 countries take part in this cultural arts event.

Starting out in 1965, the festival soon became a founder member of
CIOFF, the international organisation of folklore festivals.
The team has to be ready to make last minute adjustments and with help of the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts (
CIOFF) of which Olga is president of their Northern European sector.
Billingham then became a founder member of
CIOFF - the international organisation of folklore festivals - and Phil Conroy became its general secretary, a post he held until his death.
One illustration of very recent activity was the work done by the council to help the Festival Committee stage the world conference of their international organisation
CIOFF within the last few weeks.
Stockton is hosting more than 150 members of the International Council of Organisations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Art (
CIOFF) until next Wednesday.
