In his fortress of Shaddar-Nur, the necromancer Shaddar, a pariah of the Band of Mages from Mystdale Castle, plans his triumphant return to the world of Ancaria. There seems to be a problem with font rendering, and from what I heard I'm not alone. Also, ground textures don't render for me at all (it's just black).
Also I want to know if it would be somehow possible to get the German dubbing. It sounds a hundred times better than the English one to me..
Nevertheless I'm pretty impressed. I really didn't expect it to work, but unlike other modern titles, it perfectly did except for the above issues. Kinda nostalgic seeing the 1.2 series of Gtk and co in the lib folder =)
I had the same problem. You can easily fix it by removing the shipped libraries which are deprecated (such as SDL, gcc, stdc++, openal, asound, etc). In this case the libraries are in <desura>/common/sacred/lib/lib{1,2}. Hope that helps.
This is pretty common with LGP games unfortunately, and removing shipped libraries always worked for me.
Thanks, I just tried it (although I just renamed the libs). Apparently with my libm.so the game crashes, so I left that in, but I otherwise reduced the lib count significantly (Sacred now also uses PulseAudio directly :D ).
The font and ground texture problems however are still the same, nothing changed =/
Bummer. Are you running fglrx by any chance? X3 renders really badly with that driver for me; maybe it's the same issue.
Yeah I am =/ The last time I used radeon, Minecraft was absolutely unplayable, and I assume much hasn't changed regarding performance =/
Has any further optimizations/enhancements been made since the new releases on USC and Desura?
What is the DRM situation? If it does still include the LGP DRM I would appreciate this being mentioned in the game's description.
It was stated on their facebook it does include the DRM.

This is an interesting development. I'm a little sad that I would have to re-buy the old titles to have them managed in Desura, but it's nice if there will be new titles from LGP. Hope it work out well for you.

I've long been under the impression that they specifically considered other digital distribution services to be competing publishers.
