The commitment and determination it takes to make a mod is inspiring, and Homeworld is one game that has inspired many creators on ModDB, for well over two decades now. That's why it gives me pleasure to share the news that Gearbox Publishing and Blackbird Interactive have announced mod support will be coming to Homeworld 3, when it is scheduled to release next year.
Mods will be created using the Unreal Editor, and shared in-game using the Unreal Engine mod plugin made by our friends at mod.io. Launching February 2024, players will be to create custom levels and augment ships to share and enjoy on your galaxy-spanning mission.
Homeworld 3 will give you the opportunity to join Intel Officer Isaac Paktu and Fleet Command herself, Imogen S’Jet, on a unique mission. Under sudden and brutal attack by a new enemy known only as the Incarnate, the Hiigarans must cross into the Anomaly, the place where the legendary Karan S’Jet disappeared without a trace.

for the life of me i can not find a non-pirated download of this game from a trustworthy site (AKA Gamestop,Fileplanet,etc.....) anyone know where i can even find a digital download of this? (of corse it has to be a trustworthy site)

There never has been a Digital download it only was sold by disc at a local retailer i can buy the game 13/15 euro's and its sold a lot on amazon or maybe on ebay
With windows 7 or 8 you need the 1.1 update and German fix exe from game copy world.com. gearbox is going to relase an updated vers of both games with better graphics and steam. So don't feel too bad.

I am wondering if any one else is having issue with updating homeworld 2 to 1.1 on windows 7 I have tried how it says with Vista and it does not work for me it say that the file is not right even thought its a fresh install of homeworld 2
Worked for me, have you tried running it as Admin, have you double checked your installation paths?

So much for the hope of getting homeworld 3 :/. Goddamn gearbox :(. Well, the only thing we can hope now is that Team Pixel will be able to create a true successor to the franchise like what have said.
You know, Gearbox at least made some bigger games. And some of them, especially the Brother in Arms-Series, showed much talent, and the ability to make an unconventional game in a genre full of CoD-copies. TeamPixel couldn't present anything to proof their ability of creating a noteworthy successor at all. Where does all this baseless trust come from?
While I don't doubt Gearbox's ability to make good games, I just hope they knew what they were doing when they bout the Homeworld IP.
