The epic struggle of the Hiigarans and their leader Karan S'jet continues. Many thought their hardships would end when they returned to Hiigara, yet fate has not been so kind to the Exiles. Now the Hiigarans face a new and bitter enemy, a renegade clan from the eastern fringes of the galaxy, who wield the power of the ancients.
Homeworld 2 chronicles the valiant journey of the Mothership and its crew into the oldest regions of the galaxy to confront their new foe and discover the truth behind their exile.
The best part of running ModDB, is watching creator communities evolve, grow, and shape the games you and I love to play. The commitment and determination it takes to make a mod is inspiring, and Homeworld is one game that has inspired many creators on ModDB, for well over two decades now. That's why it gives me pleasure to share the news that Gearbox Publishing and Blackbird Interactive have announced mod support will be coming to Homeworld 3, when it is scheduled to release next year.
Mods will be created using the Unreal Editor, and shared in-game using the Unreal Engine mod plugin made by our friends at mod.io. Launching February 2024, players will be to create custom levels and augment ships to share and enjoy on your galaxy-spanning mission.
Homeworld 3 will give you the opportunity to join Intel Officer Isaac Paktu and Fleet Command herself, Imogen S’Jet, on a unique mission. Under sudden and brutal attack by a new enemy known only as the Incarnate, the Hiigarans must cross into the Anomaly, the place where the legendary Karan S’Jet disappeared without a trace.

I have some ideas, specifically for one with a pirate faction, like the Turanic Raiders. (I know there are some pretty good mods, where they are a playable faction; like FX Commander, or Complex Simple, but; at least from my point of view, the Raiders there are fun to play, but not yet perfect.)
-Make them a faction very dependant on boarding and capturing ships. For example by giving only access to ships up to a cruiser size, just through normal research. They could hold their ground till around late midgame, but to win they need to capture other ships to: a)Have those ships and b)Get access to some new technology (ship types or upgrades) or weapons (interchangeable subsystems on some ships).
Capturing a Battleship Would give them access to their own type, boarding an Ion Cannon Frigate Would slightly improve their own Ion Array vessels, and so on.
-To do that they need some weapons and technologies oriented towards improving their chances at boarding: EMP weapons; perhaps an EMP mine with a small or medium sized AOE, ways to speed up the boarding process, etc. Also a cruiser outfitted for ship capture would make things easier. Corvettes and Frigates often have quite a hard time. Maybe limit the number of ships of this type that can be build to 1 or 2.
Since I lack time and skills for a mod of this type, I want to throw these ideas into the room, hoping some of them, if not all get picked up by somebody.
Sorry for the long post, but I just wanted to get this out of my head.

In Path To Victory, you need to capture enemy ships to gain technologies when playing the Raider. However, from a player's point of view, I find this dissuade me from playing the Raider, simply because I'm just not a blitz type player (I'm a turtle type player actually) and I'm really bad at capturing enemy ships in battle!
Also, as a modder who transplanted PTV into Complex Simple, I also find that the Turanic AI will be too weak if they have to capture some particular types of ships in game -- those ship types may simply never present in a game!
Any mods that add races/factions message me them please
