In a statement, the GNR informs that it has accused three men and three women, aged between 36 and 58, of violating urban planning rules, pollution, disobedience, damage, and tax fraud.

According to the note, the Environmental Crimes and Administrative Offenses Investigation Unit (NICCOA) of the Nature and Environment Protection Service (SEPNA) of the GNR carried out an inspection action on Monday at a campsite that operates “illegally” near the well-known Guia shopping center (Algarve Shopping).

In this space, where more than a hundred unlicensed mobile homes are installed, SEPNA members carried out 25 search warrants, four in homes, six in mobile homes, and 15 in vehicles, having detected ten infractions, says the GNR.

According to the GNR, following the action, ten infraction notices were drawn up, four for failure to pay road tax and six for failure to declare entry into national territory, which were sent to the Tax Authority (AT) and the Agency for Migration and Asylum Integration (AIMA) respectively.

During the operation, among others, 45,253 euros in cash, 12 mobile homes, seven vehicles, a shotgun, a pistol, and two compressed air rifles were seized.

The operation had the support of the Tax Authority, Civil Protection of Albufeira, Social Action of Albufeira, and Social Security.

The GNR also states that the facts of the operation were communicated to the Albufeira Judicial Court.

In the statement, the Guarda recalls that mobile, prefabricated or wooden houses, containers, caravans “or other similar solutions”, “are still subject to prior urban licensing, regardless of whether the construction or installation in question can be removed and moved to another location.”
