Full version 1C installer packed with Zandronum v3.0 alpha.
Changelog included on file.
Brutal Doom 64 by Sergeant Mark IV
Installation:
1 - Unzip the content.
2 - Place a doom2.wad file in the main folder. It doesn't matters if you got the file from Steam, Gog.com, whatever,
any official version of the doom2.wad file will work. Final Doom iwads (tnt.wad and plutonia.wad) will also work.
If you don't have it, get it here Store.steampowered.com
3 - Use "bd64 zandronum.exe" to play. You can make a shortcut of it on your desktop.
For advanced users:
You can extract all files from the skins folder, and make your instalation.
This mod supports any version of GZDoom (including dev buids), or Zandronum (2.1 or higher).
If you already have an older version installed, just delete everything
and use this installation instead. You can't play your old save games
with older versions, but you can use the idclevxx command to start the
game on the map you left (for example if you stoped the game on map10,
just type idclev10).
This installer only works for Windows users. It supports any Windows version.
If you are using Linux or Mac, you need to download a new sourceport, extract all the 3 files
from the skins folder, and configure everything manually.
Zandronum.com
To play multiplayer you will need Doomseeker.
Doomseeker.drdteam.org
You can extract the files from the Skins folder and run them on your own installation.
This installation of Zandronum 3.0 alpha that I included has everything configured for optimal performance.
If you are going to move it to your own installation, remember to disable the Enhanced Night Vision Mode.
This instalation is configured for a 1600x900 default resolution, on windowed mode.
You can change it to fullscreen and change it to other resolutions by going
to options > set video mode.
You can run either bd64v1_main with other map packs or vanilla Doom maps, or bd64v1_maps alone to play these maps
with custom gameplay mods.
You can control the amount of blood and gore by opening the console and typing bd_bloodamount * (* is a number from 1 to 4)
You can enable the "janitor" to make blood and gore disappear after some time by typing in the console bd_lowgraphicsmode 1 (type
bd_lowgraphicsmode 0 to disable)

seriously i want to smash the computer, WHY CANT I GET THIS **** TO WORK ON A MAC. i have done everything I was told and looked up youtube ****. WTF
Have you every considered GZDoom on Mac?
Forum.drdteam.org
Not 100% sure if it works though.
macs are not for gaming, get rekt.
I have my own hackentosh with its own Nvidia drivers and works perfectly fine for gaming. :p In fact with such things as dosbox and wine I can run most of the PC library perfectly.
As for getting this to run on OSX, there is an offical release of GZdoom for OSX as with Zandro 3 Betas. Just download and use them.

lol macs ******* suck dude
true that
I don't mean to be a stickler... But anyone else noticing the missing texture in Map 02: The Terraformer? Right after you activate the Terraformer the first step is just a tracing abyss..
Nevermind, I think that was actually IN Doom 64... Ignore me, I'm just a *******! .-.

time to crash some demons, thank you very much for your effort and work
How to coop?
The lighting is scaring me.
I'm lost and I don't where to go.
But I have a shotgun and am pretty much overcome with nostalgia.
Great job. Brutal is Brazil's #1 export!
Holy ****, it's finally here.
I posted about it and how excited I was about on Facebook earlier today. I was disappointed that it wasn't out when I had enough time to get on my laptop, but, I'm downloading it now, and I've yet to play it. I'll post again when I play it for myself.
Will start playing this tommorow, wanted to set it up and tweak the settings for tonight but everytime I go into fullscreen the game doesn't go to the main monitor, very frustrating
if anyone is interested n giving a dark feeling like the real doom 64 use this guide
and thanks for the mod IS AWEOSME

awesome :D
Just downloaded, setup on my mac, played to map 5 so far the past few mins - this is f*cking awesome, dude! Thank you SO MUCH, Sarge!
Congratulations on the release.
Can't wait to play it! :-)
So, I managed to play through a bit of the MOD, and I'm planning on continuing the game. Setup was hard for me, but it really payed off. So, with that out of the way, here's my thoughts:
POSITIVES:
-I really like how the levels were remade, especially with the fog effects. It gives the game a really spine tingling atmosphere.
-The way the weapons now look are fascinating to me, and the sounds make them feel more of actual guns in real life. Sure, the pump sound for the shotgun sounded more like an old-fashioned camera when the MOD was first revealed, but I'm glad it was changed.
-The new gore effects were amazing to see, and, come to think of it, I wonder how the effects would look on a real N64?
NEGATIVES:
-Unfortunately, there's no fatalities or destroyable corpses. These two features were things that made Brutal Doom a great experience. Oh well. It'll possibly be added in future updates, right?
-The second most annoying enemy in this MOD is the Nightmare Imp. Now, I found the Nightmare Imp in the original game OK. When I first saw the blur effect added to the enemy in one of the gameplay videos, I was interested. Now that I've played the MOD for myself, they became my second most hated enemy. With the added blur effect and the fact that they're more transparent, I either found myself either missing my shot, or getting ****** over by a horde of Nightmare Imps. What's my most hated enemy? Well,
-The Nightmare Demon is my most hated enemy in the whole MOD. They're just as bad as the Nightmare Imp, and, to make matters worse, they have a really dark shade of brown, making them hard to see in pretty much every single level.
Now, although the amount of positive and negatives are equal to each other, resulting in a 50% rating, I still like this MOD. All In All, this MOD is OK, but i Think it could've been better,
For the nightmare imps you don't shoot where they are, but where they will be. This is shown in the illusionment effect. The blur goes towards where they're teleporting. Shoot there. They're as weak as any other imps, HP wise. I really like them as enemies.
The Spectres are supposed to be Spectres. Follow their sound.
Yaaay finally
There are some bug like invisible things i the maps but the mod is so cool
The lighting is great, and I love the new spawning in system. The small tweaks to maps is nice too.
But 3 things
1) Berserk pack takes 3 punches to kill Imps on UV.
2) Chaingun is too loud and has a ton of distortion. Audio design is great aside from that.
3) Blood is far too bright for this game.
Agree on the chaingun. You can adjust blood brightness somewhere in the options im pretty sure.
Thanks for the awesome game!
Holy Heck; YES!
There Will Be Blood...
lol XD Happy Halloween Demon ********!
Alright, i just played a few rounds of Brutal Doom 64 and I'll try my best to describe what I've experienced so far:
I also played on UV difficulty since obviously anything less than UV is no fun.
To anyone who might complain that the player isn't as outrageously powerful as Brutal Doom/Project Brutality with the lack of fatalities and the cruelty bonuses, it is intentional. Doom 64's darker tone and lining up in with Survival Horror fits the mold that Sarge was going for. The lack of executions and even mercy/cruelty kill bonuses that helped Doomguy regained health are not here for the intents and purposes of being in-line with the darker tone of Doom 64.
Then again, i'm not a 100% sure if the cruelty bonuses are left out. If they are, then it is intentional on Sarge's part i think.
My experience with BD64 so far is basically like this: every bit of HP counts. The moment you're struck and you lost a decent amount of health, better look for those health packs since unlike Brutal Doom, there's no executions to regain health.
Those Nightmare Imps are truly nightmarish. They are quite dodgey, and missing a Super Shotgun blast against them can be really punishing. They are quite challenging and fun opponents to deal with.
So yeah so far, my experience with BD64 has been excellent. I can't wait to progress further and experience the new stuff Sarge has added such as the Revenants, Chain-gunners, and whatever else there is.
Oh and before i forgot, nice touch on the intro level before Staging Area ;). Suddenly I was reminded of the Hell on Earth Starter pack, which is obviously Sarge's previous creation and had such level with fellow marines.
Just played a bit of this mod. Gore is extremely satisfying without breaking the horror atmosphere. I like some nice touches in the levels, such as the intro level.
No 1920x1080 resolution? ...REALLY?
Hey Sergeant_Mark_IV, nicely done! But I met one visual bug: Imgur.com
I'm using GZDoom latest build, not the stable one.
More artifacts: Imgur.com
Upd: last album was merged with 1st one, added a lot more artifacts I've met.
Finally...
I love this game so much thanks you so much for making this!!!!
Hello! When I start a new game, why not start the first level? Or I stupid??? :) Is this the intro?
HEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLL YEAAAAAAAA!
Dayum, really hard and ammo consuming. These Pain Elementals are spamming these Lost Souls way too fast.
Hell yeah! time to get brutality!
This is awesome. Thanks a million
Muito bom, especialmente a pistola.
It was all for doom serie? Can we expect for brutal...somethng else like Brutal Hexen at example?
Woohoo!
When I extract it the Music Pack says CRC failed, anyone else run into this problem?
i can't get full screen mode, the audio works but the screen gets black and i can't play, even i close the program and re-start, full screen doesn't give me picture :(
Awesome work you did! but i have the fullscreen mode problem too. The monitor goes into standby mode when trying fullscreen in this release. When i switch to Software mode, fullscreen works fine.
Any fix? thanks in advance.
LEGEND never die! In the first age, in the first battle, when the shadows first lengthened, one stood...... The Doom Slayer!
