firefox just started doing this too so remember kids if you want to stream things like netflix or hulu over discord without the video being blacked out you just have to disable hardware acceleration in your browser settings!

for the people saying this might be too difficult: idk about chrome but in firefox it just goes

> open settings

> search “hardware acceleration” and there should only be one result

> uncheck use recommended performance settings

> uncheck use hardware acceleration

done!

Since I’m looking at the comments and seeing a lot of people asking what hardware acceleration is and getting wildly incorrect answers, here you go. This is what hardware acceleration is. It’s not DRM, and it’s not placing a limit on memory usage (unless you have weird definitions for both “memory” and “placing a limit”).

This is what hardware acceleration is:

“Do you just have a graphic for this on hand at all times?”

Yes. For this precise reason.

hey just to let anyone using firefox know! searching “hardware acceleration” in firefox settings doesnt do anything! you wont get anything whatsoever! you have to scroll down on the main general settings page to “Performance” and uncheck “Use recommended performance settings” to be able to uncheck “Use hardware acceleration when available”! signed someone who was extremely confused when trying to follow OP’s instructions only for there to be no results

Publisher Flyhigh Works and Shinobi non Grata developer Studio PICO have announced The Scramble Vice, a new side-scrolling 2D robot action game coming to PC via Steam in 2024.

Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:

About

In the year 2048, with the advancement of technology comes a spike in criminal acts using robots. The biggest perpetrators of crime are terrorists that are turning increasingly destructive by the day. Safety levels within the capital are at an all-time low.

Tasked to handle the situation is the notorious 9th Mobile Unit of the Tokyo Police Department, also known as “The Scramble Vice.”

Clad in an armed exoskeleton suit, police officer Sakuragi Kei of the 9th unit stands to fight robot crimes within Neo Tokyo!

Her suit “ASURA” can equip various firearms and melee weapons. It is also installed with a “Homing Missile” function that follows targets wherever they go, and a “Roller Boost” function that can dodge even the heaviest rain of enemy projectiles.

Are you ready to scramble up Tokyo?

Key Features

  • Dare we say it? Detailed pixel art and dynamic visual effects that make destruction aesthetically pleasing!
  • Exhilarating robot action! Destroy enemies using firearms, melee weapons and homing missiles!
  • Not everything has to be done piloting a robot; infiltrate enemy headquarters on foot!
  • Apart from her exoskeleton suit, Kei can ride motorbikes and cars as well!
  • With help from your friends, uncover the truth behind the anonymous terrorist group.
  • Control a battle robot to defeat enemies and clear the stage by defeating the target boss!
  • More than 10 types of weapons can be used in all 12 stages!
  • Pilots can get off the robot and go undercover on missions by themselves!
  • More than 10 types of vehicles can be piloted!

Things are shit lately but it’s almost christmas so fuck it. My #LancerRPG GMS Everest for their upcoming supplement Solstice Rain. I’ve always loved all manner of grunts in #mecha and don’t know if they realized how much I relished the opportunity.

[G] Type Everests are built to easily swap equipment in record time, affording them a great deal of tactical flexibility. [G] Types were deployed by Union forces during Operation Solstice Rain where their rapid deployment avoided a worst case scenario for the city of Nov Elysia.

I had a lot of fun drawing from all of my favorite sources to design a quintessential Lancer grunt mech. For my interepretation of the GMS Everest, I wanted to design something that felt solid, but not rugged, if that makes sense to anyone but me. To compare to other works, I thought of designs like Gundam’s GM and Jegan lineages, or certain designs from the Armored Core and Front Mission franchises. Designs that felt true to the essence of the mech as a military machine.

I do want to be clear, I don’t intend for my interpretation of the GMS Everest to be the “canon” depiction, nor should it invalidate the many fantastic renditions of it I’ve seen from Lancer’s fanbase. I hope my [G] Type Everest will contribute to the fabric of Lancer as a whole though, and that some of you will think of mine when you imagine it on the table.

This was an immensely fun and challenging piece to figure out and I’m quite proud of how it ended up. It took quite a bit of brainstorming to capture such a kinetic moment in a single point of time. I drew upon all of my experiences and influences to navigate this composition. 90s mecha OVAs and Armored Core CG intros were played on loop many times.
