In this connection, Building Control Section -II (BCS-II) Directorate of the authority has been directed to carry out inspection of private housing
societies for implementation of building by-laws, said a press release.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (East) Dr Asif Raheem had a detailed session with management of the housing
societies. The participants discussed issues of the
societies about waste disposal and sanitation mechanism.
In order to curtail such illegal practice, the Cooperative Department also published several notices in the leading newspapers wherein the general public was advised in their own interest to verify the registration and other particulars of the society from the concerned Assistant Registrar, Cooperative
Societies before purchasing plots or making any payments to eliminate the chance of fraud and cheating."The letter further added, "In order to streamline the working and affairs of the cooperative
societies and to reduce the chance of fraud and cheating, following
societies have been put under liquidation in exercise of power vested under section 47 of the Cooperative
Societies Act 1927 which have ceased its working and became non-functional/dormant since long.
There are about 110 illegal
societies including Jammu Kashmir Housing Society, Supreme Court housing society, Sawan Garden Cooperative housing society, Civilian employee cooperative society, central board of revenue employee Housing society, Senate employees Housing Society Aagosh Housing Society, Ministry of common's employees Housing Society, Interior employees housing society, Multi Professional Housing society, Cabinet Division Employees Housing Society, and others that are busy in looting people with impunity without having a lay out plan or NOC.
During a meeting of a sub-committee of the Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat, which met at Parliament House with Senator Kalsoom Parveen in the chair, the operator of the unauthorised Sohan Garden Cooperative Housing Society claimed the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration had conducted an audit of
societies just to pressurise their managements.

The minister held a similar meeting with the heads and representatives of the coalition of national political
societies.
Twenty-one states had formed accounting
