Some of the goals Parker has set for the club include, raising awareness about our impact on the environment, improving eco-friendly and green practices in the school by creating a recycling system for the school, developing a
composting system, and planting a school or community garden.
Our multi-faceted approach to recycling sends most yard waste through our chickens to start the composting process along with both an outdoor, hot
composting system and an indoor worm bin.
All kitchen waste goes through the
composting system, and biomass boilers and ground and air source heat pumps are used to provide heating and hot water.
Also honored was The Potential for Leaf Waste, which proposed an on-campus leaf and food waste
composting system at Colby-Sawyer College.
