Chechersk

 

a city (since 1971) and administrative center of Chechersk Raion, Gomel’ Oblast, Byelorussian SSR. Chechersk is situated on the Sozh River, a tributary of the Dnieper, 37 km from the Buda-Koshelevskaia railroad station and 65 km north of Gomel’. Checherk’s industrial enterprises include a butter factory, a winery, a vegetable cannery, and a factory for the production of objets d’arl.
