Yes, UA has a discord server. Like many other projects, it is one of if not the best ways of managing a community. The reasons as to why we expect you to seek help on that platform are myriad, but here's a few of the big ones.

We cannot moderate this platform, meaning that anyone who decides to start trolling on the comments cannot be prevented from doing so aside from sitting here and having someone babysit the thread and delete the nonsense. This isn't worth anyone's time, so we won't be doing that.

It is far easier to keep direct messages straight, organize feedback into appropriate channels, manage development, and assist with technical problems on a case by case basis within the platform of Discord.

Downvote raids on comments that are literally from team members trying to assist users has made everyone extremely unwilling to be on this platform so that we can waste time repeating the same news and answering the same questions, only to have said comments buried. Grats trolls, by being opposed to using discord to this point, you've effectively made it the only way we will be communicating in the future. There are actually patches presently on the discord that you can only get there at this time, because nobody wants to deal with this website.

And finally, it is far more convenient from a community standpoint to provide you guys with daily updates and ongoing news with the mod on Discord than it is on Moddb. This website is great for hosting files and maybe even showcasing a project, but it is beyond dated and not very efficient from a modern perspective as far as running a community.

We truly hope to see you guys on the server, be sure to read our welcome center when you join, and follow the development updates channel for frequent news from our lead devs on development progress. Why be in the dark and wonder about what we're doing when you could be right there watching it yourself?

Что ж, прошло около 5 лет с момента выхода 1.88.72. И вот сегодня я обновился до 1.89.53.
Я хочу сказать, что для такой старой игры, изжившего себя движка, до сих пор выходят прекрасные моды, в том числе и "апокалипсис". В свою очередь это показывает, что (ну по крайней мере для меня) к 2024 году никто не смог сделать лучше, чем это сделали тогда в нулевые.
Но обновившись до актуальной версии(см. выше), я крайне разочарован. У меня есть несколько претензий:
Первая.
Это никакого нового контента, я поиграл несколько матчей и не увидел никаких глобальных изменений: ни новых юнитов, ни построек... может я мало играл?
Вторая.
Это постоянные вылеты. Я не знаю, но игра стабильно крашится по неизвестным мне причинам в любой момент. То есть версия 88 стабильнее 89. Как так?
Третья.
Это кампания. Из комментариев и своего опыта говорю: она нестабильная, постоянные вылеты и баги...

И из этого я делаю вывод, что вы там, уж извините, хернёй страдаете. Я почитал пару статей на modb, видно, что вы к чему-то стремитесь, у вас есть какой-то план...
Но пять лет? Я, я не очень понимаю, такое ощущение, что это всё делает один человек, хотя есть команда, дискорд сервер, где скорее всего кто-то донатит или помогает в создании мода.
Просто пять лет... За это время вышло куча охуенных модов, по масштабу, сравнимые с "апокалипсисом" и за пять лет я получаю ничего?

Adeptus Astartes(Space Marines): Assault Centurion Squad and Devastator Centurion Squad, Stormtalon Gunship and Stormhawk Interceptor.

Astra Militarum(Imperial Guard): Bullgryn(no more melee for Ogryn).

Ordo Malleus(Inquisition Daemonhunters): Predator Executioner and Stalker(from Space Marines).

Adepta Sororitas(Sisters of Battle): Zephyrim Squad(no more Seraphim Squad), Castigator, Thunderbolt Heavy Fighter, Hunter.

Asuryani(Eldar): Shadow Spectres, Firestorm, Support Weapon Battery, Wraithblade(no more Ancient Wraithguard), Wraithknight(no more Ancient Wraithlord), Vampire Hunter(Vampire Raider should be used like Thunderhawk Gunship, Valkyrie, Orca Dropship), Hemlock Wraithfighter, Nightshade Interceptor.

Drukhari(Dark Eldar): Venom, Grotesque, Chronos Parasite Engine, Revenant Titan(no more Agony Titan).

4) Dire Avengers should have only one Exarch per each squad, instead.

5) Slugga Boys should be produced at Settlement, instead(no more Grot Gang).

6) Canoptek Wraith should capture points, instead.

7) No more capturing points for Builder Scarab.

8) No more transport function for Land Raider Terminus Ultra.

9) Chaos Space Marines with Tzeentch should create Chaos Sorcerer Lord from Desecrated Stronghold, not Sacrificial Pit.

10) Lord of Change should be transformed from Chaos Sorcerer Lord, not by creating individually.

11) Chaos Space Marine Squad should change their name to Legionaries.

12) Chaos Daemons should create their Daemon Primarch only when they choose a certain god(Angron for Khorne, Magnus for Tzeentch, Mortarion for Nurgle, Fulgrim for Slaanesh).

13) Mod's own units should be removed(except Archivist and Lost Soul).

14) No more Predator Executioner and Stalker for Space Marines(anti-air for Whirlwind Hyperios only).

15) No more Predator Annihilator, Whirlwind Hyperios, Maintenance Servitor for Inquisition Daemonhunters.

16) Grand Lord of Chaos should be researched at Sacrificial Circle, instead.

17) No more Brother-Captain/Chapter Master.

18) No more Pariahs(Deathtouch, Deathstrike, Death Lord).

19) Attack Scarab should change its name to Canoptek Scarab.

20) Wraith should change its name to Canoptek Wraith.

21) Necrons should have Dynasty selection(Szarekhan, Sautekh, Mephrit, Nihilakh, Nephrekh).

22) Dark Eldar should have Cabal selection(Obsidian Rose, Poisoned Tongue, Last Hatred, Black Heart, Dying Sun, The Severed, Lords of Iron Thorn, Broken Sigil).

23) Sisters of Battle should have Order selection(Ebon Chalice, Valorous Heart, Argent Shroud, Our Martyred Lady, Bloody Rose, Sacred Rose).

24) Player switch button in Sandbox Mode should be located below the menu bar, instead.

24) There should be 6P and 7P maps containing Slag Deposit, Relic, Critical Location per each player.

25) Chaos Space Marines should create their Terminator Squad only when they choose a certain god(Red Butcher Terminators for Khorne, Scarab Occult Terminators for Tzeentch, Blightlord Terminators for Nurgle, Phoenix Guard Terminators for Slaanesh).

Is it just in my version or is there an error - the tac. terminators of the space marines are equided with a heavy flamer insteat of a stormbolter.

This mod will never be smooth (fps wise) because of the 32bits and DX9 nature of the game/engine. The sheer scale of UA battles is it's strength AND weakness. Too much draw calls (for DX9 to handle) = low fps even if you have a beast of PC. So deal with it or play smaller battles on small maps OR just don't use the mod.

Ay i mean, it has always been that way but i think it has gotten a bit worse. With these these popular full overhaul DoW mods, we can expect crashes quite often when the battles of the game get extreme, even with low graphical settings. I noticed for this mod, perhaps lowering the resolution may help a little bit? But the moment Titans and bigger titans and even BIGGER titans come, it definitely will cause the game to choke. It's like putting a V4 or even a V6 engine inside of a modern battle tank.

The vehicle is too great, and the engine will often burn out or fail cuz it needs a jet engine or gas turbine to power it. This to say that the V4/V6 engine is the game engine and the mod is a great big battle tank. It simply cannot handle the great mod.

I have an Intel i9 10900KF with a GeForce RTX 3090 graphics card. Obviously, a PC for some of us isn't the problem, it's the 20 year old engine. Maybe some really smart dude out there will come forward with a breakthrough discovery or who knows, we may be blessed with something before then.

Either way, this seems more like wishful thinking, but nothing is certain, and the future of Dawn of War mods is quite clear. These overhaul mods are becoming more and more straining no matter how we slice it. Hopefully my mod team can make ours be one of the overhauls that won't crash as much.

I am hoping that, with more of the updates that get released, they're still put onto this website. I don't much like having to join a discord server, but I understand why it's needed. The comments are an absolute hurricane of salt from the two competing mods, and I have to say... just play both of them. Who cares. I like this mod because of the fun things it adds and the way it adds things, and I like the other one because of the way it does it's things. I play both of them and have no urge to beat anyone up over someone feeling different, so maybe bring the salt elsewhere so many others can keep using this page to view mod updates sometime in the future when things settle?

Blame the game engine, not the mod. Engine is a modified one from the ``Impossible Creatures´´ game. Was never meant to have 1000 units, 100 explosions and 20 titans happening at the same time.
No mod can help about any of that, so stop being a fn *******. You can't ``optimize´´ this kind of mod.

Shows how little you know, sure the engine is a problem but having 1k textures on buildings with a hundred light emitters isn't helping. The AI alone will relentlessly build extra buildings they don't need. I have tech tier V off and the performance is still terrible without titans. Chaos Demons will wreck performance a lot faster than Nids because their buildings have 10x more effect emitters than any other race. If the AI was better at managing strategically instead of just mass production it would be a lot easier on performance.

Mod runs like total garbage with stuttering and performance drops, it's a nightmare and frankly un-fun. Cap the units or fix the models/textures because it's literally unplayable after 20 minutes in a match. That's what needs to happen, fanboy.

Do not compare UA with Unifaction, one is apple and the other is pear, these two modes are never stable, the reason is the simple game is old. You are complaining about 1k models, but the same applies to Unifaction. Learn to criticize both modes equally.

Bro, the Unification mod has cult followers harassing members who follow other mods. I had to have one banned from my page right on the spot because of their uncalled for behavior. So don't bother with it, ain't nobody worried about their keyboard warriors. Just hating *** bitches. Their mod isn't perfect either last I saw and if anything, I would go as far as saying it's a mess on the engine far worse than this one. A great PC even if it's Windows 11 ain't gonna do **** about that. They can keep begging SEGA for that source code cuz it's never gonna be theirs. Nice try Uni!
