Takeda Shingen, the Tiger of Kai
The year is 1568. In the far aftermath of the disastrous Onin War and the in-fighting of feuding clans across Japan, turmoil is rife and has turned the lands into bountiful prey for all rungs of society from the likes of Uesugi Kenshin right down to the masses. Common mobs have flocked to the banners of the Ikko-Ikki, a rebellious movement opposing the rule of daimyo. Yet in Owari, Oda Nobunaga marches on Kyoto, threatening the Shogunate and bringing the Ashikaga to its knees. From abroad the distant seas, the Portuguese nanban, barbarians from the west, have brought the spread of Christianity and new technologies from afar.
You have been thrown into the Sengoku Jidai, the Warring States era of Japan. In your hands lies the power to craft your own destiny. Whether you take up a sword or brush in hand, it is up to you to carve your own path in Japan's history and make a name for yourself, be that through cunning foxery or brute force.
The age of the Country at War beckons to you; will you answer her call?

Here's a video showcasing our post battle feature. In this feature you'll be able to enter the aftermath of large battles, and loot what was left over. Watch out for looters who will also be looting, and they might think you're an easy target. The bigger the battle, the more loot, as well as more looters. So be careful, get what you can and get out. Don't be greedy, you will get overwhelmed!
Watch the new Shokuho gameplay trailer! We hope you enjoy this small preview :)

As the year steadily draws to a close, all of us on the Shokuhō Team are taking a moment to give you some news about the mod.
Are you planning to make it almost historical realistic or just make the "cool" but not so accurate thing?
Like.. geishas, they aren't actually a term for spies or assassins, because it must have been a kunoichi/female ninja to do so.
Same for being through as a Miko or a courtesan, cause this was just a distraction.
In roleplay games like Mount and Blade, i think this break some of the immersion if you will have to notice these sort of details.
Also, do you plan the game to starts near before the sekigahara battle?
If so, do you plan to adjust the clans to perform like the East and West army?
My suggestion is that you also could add the tanegashima and firearm troops, i don't find anything about them right now and they have been really relevant in the "late sengoku" period.
Also, good luck with this mod, i hope this to go really far.
The mod will be historically accurate, however there are certain things I still am in doubt about.
What I can confirm
- all the katana fighting will be custom animated based upon videos of real katana moves and movements
- banners and factions will be historically accurate
- I plan to use geisha but am aware of the fact they are female courtisanes
- There won’t be a default east and west army, but I plan on an event triggering sekigahara, creating those two armies.
- Ninja’s will be used, i’m aware of the fact that they are farmers trained in martial arts and ninjutsu.
Still in doubt
- firearms, as I personally believe they might destroy the good traditional samurai combat. However I might release a firearms addons
To clarify
- The mod won’t instantly be historical, I plan to start by adding items troops and factions and will improve from that base version gradually.

This one says so much:

But seriosly, if you get to balance them, like being more difficult/expensive to obtain, i think that should work fine.
One suggestion is that only specific clans should have access to it, like the "noble" troops in bannerlord.
Even in sieges, i think the implementation of firearm will in the future "justify" access to more siege weapons like some cannon artillery.
Take a look at this:
Gunbai-militaryhistory.blogspot.com
Yes I know it is quite a dilemma, if I implent any sort of gun troop however, they will be very much like the rome 2 version, very powerful CLOSE RANGE ranged units. I actually think i will implent them that way while thinking about it, in close range they are devastating, but salvos need to be carefully aimed because of huge reload times, also they can be countered with long range yumi troops.
Another interesting dilemma is the question if we are to abort ashigura like it happened at the beginning of the edo periode.
I think you have refered to Shogun 2, because Rome 2 don't have gun units.
But even if these units are powerful in close range distances, they are the most vulnerable troops in combat too, can't stand a chance against direct cavalry/infantry shocks.
For the ashigaru to be approached like that in the late sengoku/beginning of the edo period, means he just to be a efficient "low army" whitout so much formal training and even veterans.
Simulating it in the game would be like: mostly yari/teppo ashigaru units that aren't very good at all and then specialized ashigaru troop trees.
Note that even if a regular ashigaru can be turned into a teppo unit, this means to buy so much teppos as to upgrade every unit.
Well, i'm curious what you would do about it anyway...
Yes so that is what I mean, matchlock samurai, devastating at close range, shooting in salvos, giving morale penalties, countered easily by cavalry or yumi (long range japanese bow) samurai.
So it becomes a need to think tactical.
Will this mod be historically accurate? I hope it is. I really loved gekokujo and I am looking forward for this mod with bannerlord.
Hey there guys, I just graduated, so i got good news for all of you, development of this mod is my main focus at the moment of speaking. Bannerlord is still in early access and most modding tools have not been released so not everything will me moddable at the moment, but i'm planning to start modding the basics and building a team.
Cheers godarcher
When will this mod come out, I can’t wait to play this!
mod tools for bannerlord have not been released yet, so i can't really tell
